No, I'm pretty sure they did. It's an extremely popular race despite what is supposedly a problem. There is a reason most of the au ra you see, aren't max height slider. Same with miqo'te.

Female au ra imo are just popular because they look like 'softer' or more poised catgirls. Male au ra are popular because theyre overall very atractive to many players and also sometimes because of their 'anime' look or their bestial features, female au ra and male au ra are so different they look like 2 different races, so I wouldnt say people pick it specifically for the height difference, but beacuse the gender they play offers them to fullfill their specific nieche

You're comparing an existing race with existing established for many years features that players, who play the race, are happy with to adding new non-existing-yet hairstyles that won't affect race's features in any way but expanding self-expressing options. Neck =/= hairstyle. Head size and shape =/= hairstyle. Animations =/= hairstyle.

If you want to compare "Elezens should be reworked" to something, it should be "Au Ra shouldn't have such a sexual dimorphism". Ques what? A lot of people will be against such a reword because they chose their options for what they are in terms of overall appearance.
People may memeing about Elezens as much as they want but no, the race shouldn't be "reworked" over it - because it was never wrong to begin with. It's designed the way it is and there's a playerbase that enjoys them they way they are. Same goes to pretty much every existing race in the game, even to 70cm height difference Auri. Adding new options and expanding CC? Nice. "Rework"? Hardly depends on what you imply by such "rework".

If Elezen were intended to look that way, you have to ask what they were smoking at the time. As Melichoir has posted in the past, their proportions seem to be the product of last minute adjustments, rather than anything well thought out. Personally I think the race ought to be reworked over it if they think they could now do a better job, but it's something of a moot point because they've already made their minds up on that.

Personally, the only thing I like about the Au-Ra is their Umbral Eyes.
Its a design feature I could have had on other characters.

That and its as if they were literally designed to be Dark Knights.

I mean, they did come out in the same expac as drk so that isnt such a reach actually (also, female au ra give me strong AST vibes with their animations,guess they were inspired by said jobs at the time as they were also working on them)

I always thought of miqo'te when I think of AST (keepers of the moon/seekers of the sun). WhM strikes me as au ra as whm animations are more delicate and grand, which matches with au ra animations. Though, I think of AST like I think of DNC. Looks better with longer limbed characters to give those dancing flourishes something to work with.

I know I'm tuly a minorit yhere, but I don't think that male viera and female hrotgar will be released with less limitations than the current genders if im honest, and Im actually ok with that, Id rather take that over nothing tbh
