Some warrior stuff
- Make Storm's Eye a gauge. Make it so any action that increases its duration works regardless of whether or not you have the buff, largely quality of life and making the job more fun to play in dungeons. I actually don't think the AOE combo has to give us a full 30 sec and 15 or 20 sec would be fine. Also maybe take the 15 sec off Infuriate and put it on Onslaught... Can even experiment having it so all gauge spenders increase it a little to better sell the fantasy of the job as a berserker in theme if not in job title.
- We can probably handle another oGCD. I'd like something that we don't use in Inner Release. Most of all it has to sell the theme of the job. Like picking up a boulder and chucking it at the enemy or stomping and making a landslide.
- Maybe we can just give up on Raw Intuition and make Nascent Flash available at a lower level. Alternatively, I wonder if maybe it would be better to take away the self-healing from NF, make it longer, make it only targetable on others, but give self-healing to gauge spenders. Not necessarily as much as NF gave, but closer to what Inner Beast/Steel Cyclone gave in Stormblood.
Other tank stuff
I'd like if more tanks had individual flavour fleshed out a bit. There's a lot of small things you can do that go a long way. For example, I like how Vengeance has something to make it different from the other tank 30% CDs. Maybe kill off Rampart, give every tank two charges of their 30% CD, and give them all something special. Stuff like Shadow Wall giving you a little MP when you take hits like Brood Price did, or giving Sentinel back its 40% mitigation. In general IMO PLD should be ever so slightly the preferable MT over the other 3, while WAR should have more DPS than the others (but kept within 5% like it is now). Just on a basic fantasy level.
All jobs
- If we don't use MP, put our gauge where it is, or at least make the HUD such that you have more flexibility over your vitals. It feels stupid to have it there when half of the jobs literally never use it.
- More fun flavourful traits and stuff. Give WAR 10% more HP. Make it so Mug pulls more fun stuff out of the enemy that only NIN can get, like knickers if you use it on a humanoid enemy; only if the player has like 10 inventory slots open or something so it's not annoying. Let MCH hide the stupid lunchbox thing.
- Completely redo anything related to pets and make it not control terribly.
- Not all job gauges have to start at 0. PLD should have 50 oath gauge, WHM should start with a lily, SCH should just have aetherflow and be able to use aetherflow whenever they want out of combat. With regards to DPS jobs, I'd argue some of these gauge-building oGCDs might seem less important if you started with some gauge for your opener. I kind of like ones that are more unique like Manafication to stay as is.
