New Years Event and ShB races - Most disgusting thing I've ever seen

I'm okay with not wearing most hats, I usually glamour to glasses anyway.

I accepted not being able to wear some older items.

But you literally made an event, where the *only* cosmetic reward is a hat, and then didn't make it so your entire playerbase could even wear it?

It's actually disgusting at this point, the moment I saw that I just abandoned the quest on principle. Putting hats on models is not difficult, even if some hairs would clip the game is already full of clipping, we don't care. Seriously, do better, square.

I don't care that it's minor or that the hat isn't the prettiest thing in the world - this is disgusting practice. If you can't have your entire playerbase get rewarded for an event, then don't bother with the event until you can, or make the reward a minion or something instead. People would probably like that better anyway.

That's all for my feedback, even though it might not even be read I wanted to leave it here for even the smallest chance a dev would see it.

It's a lot of work, apparently. Unfortunately for them, we don't pay them to do just the easy work.

I'm considering 6.0 to be the major test on that particular front. Multiple rival MMO's have addressed dated character customisation in recent years and I'd really like FFXIV to follow suit. It's a lot of work, sure - but they've future proofed the game on other fronts so it makes sense to me for them to do the same in that regard too.

I think 6.0 will make or break the game for some if they don't address many of the core issues with the game. So yeah, I agree it will be a major test.

I've certainly seen more disgusting things, but it would be nice if the new races could wear the new years' hats.
