This is literally what happened. I got Emerald Rapier with tokens, and then rapier dropped on the next kill and to rub the salt into wound even further it dropped on the next kill as well.
Anyway, pro tip: do not do roulettes when you're tired and sleepy.
Picture this, it's like half an hour past midnight and decided to do the leveling roulette before going to sleep. Let's go on my AST nothing is going to go wrong, i am sure. It's Holmister's Switch. It's me on AST, DRG, SMN and PLD. Tank died on the second pull because i fat fingered a few heals on myself, then i somehow died to the first boss, because moving out of glowy blue aoes is too hard. Then we did somewhat okay, but tank wisely decided to pull less, then we actually wiped on the final boss, because SMN and me died to that rotational dance. The next pull we did it nearly flawless, but still. It was a 25 minute run, so we mostly did okay i guess.
Sometimes rumors are just... rumors.

Mission Failed Successfully during Labyrinth of Ancients.
Everyone died due to Ancient Flare but my Bio ticks actually kill phlegmon's only sliver of HP left so when the party all wiped out at the same time we got duty complete, lol.
I laughed kinda hard, never expected in a million years that would happen.

This one is beyond your help. Only sleep can save her now.

I had a run of LotA once where a machinist in A popped Sprint and Peloton both to race on ahead, tearing into the lane and pulling [i]immediately[/]... and then the same person whined shortly thereafter that Alliance C "wasn't activating their pad" and "I just want to get through this as fast as possible, why can't people not suck at this, it's not hard, just have four people stand on the pad". We (Alliance C) had to point out that since almost all of the entire alliance raid had been teleported into lane A by a certain someone pulling early, lane B had five people in it (all DPS, both healers and their tank were stuck in A) and lane C had three.
I've seen that happen once, with the victory music playing over a field of dead PCs. Everyone just lost it laughing in alliance chat.Mission Failed Successfully during Labyrinth of Ancients.

It's like the one time my co-healer in a group popped LB3, died, but the LB was already committed so they did the death equivalent of slidecasting and ended up rezzing themselves with the LB3. The game's netcode and the way it handles timing and snapshots can do some Really Interesting things on rare occasions.

I aim to make my posts engaging and entertaining, even when you might not agree with me. And failing that, I'll just be very, VERY wordy.Originally Posted by Packetdancer

I've gotten weapon drops for every job I play except the one I want it for, so there's that.
Also the mount dropped and I rolled a 21, I don't think I've ever won a mount from rolls, just gotten them from totems. Feelsbadman
Watching forum drama be like

A few weeks ago when I joined an "Duty Complete" labeled Emerald EX farm party as SCH, there was a bonus that popped up. It happens every now and then in previous "Duty Complete" party finders. However, that was not the worst of it.
This party had a SMN that somehow got knocked out compared to all others, despite having similar HP as the other players. When I examined his gear when we got to phase 2, I found a NORMAL QUALITY i480 SMN weapon. Keep in mind Emerald EX's average item level requirement is i500. And unsurprisingly, he got knocked out quite a lot in phase 2 by pretty much most Teminus Est or Centurion Gunblade mechanics. It did not help that a RDM's HP hit zero quite often too. Needless to say, the "farm" party was a failure.
Luckily for me, I later got a few more Emerald EX clears to where I reached 99 Emerald Totems for the eventually totem turn in for the Gwiber mount.

It literally looks like the boss just explodes himself, dies and takes everyone with him.

Levelling Roulette: The Great Gubal Library
Prior to queueing, I (DNC) partied up with my friend (GNB). I joked about giving him my dance partner instead of my co-DPS just for 'lols'
Into the run we go, the dance partner was his for entire first pull. We got matched with an AST and BRD.
"BRD? Yess, AoE happy. This should be fast!"
At least that's what I first thought. But mobs are dying slowly...? Well nevermind that. It's not like we're in hurry anyways.
Fast forward to the first boss, I swap dance partner to the BRD (yeah, time to get serious). Only then I noticed that this BRD is the infamous semi-afk/auto attacking BRD. DoT often falls off or weren't even active most of time on mobs in following pulls. Also ate 9 out of 10 aoe thrown by the giant book, did not bother to move out of aoe most of time. Except the [Disclosure] because apparently he knows he can never survive that! Poor AST had to work her ass hard with those [Benefic I] to keep him alive and [Esuna]'d.
First boss down'ed.
The joke I made prior to entering became a real meme. I legit swap the dance partner back to my GNB friend for the rest of dungeon because how 'lazy' that BRD was. All those missed GCD cast would've made even my GNB friend did way more than that semi-afk BRD.
Of course, that laziness became a semi-nightmare at last boss because apparently he never bothered to bring the marker to the walls between the arcane circles. Down he goes, followed by the AST for whatever reason... probably tunnel visioning. We could've made it just with me and my friend but he decided we should just wipe. Down we go... for 2nd try. He's gracious enough to put down waymarks to hint where to drop the marker. But guess what, laziness prevail!
"It's been a while." says the BRD.
Suuuuuure, Jan... irresponsiveness in combat though...
But y'know what? Nevermind :')
We down'ed the last boss on 2nd try with 'minor' problem.
/facepalm
