    Haha thanks!

I also want to add that I don't blame players for 'rage quitting'. If you're impatient, are having a bad day, are in a hurry, go ahead and quit the party and find yourself a new one. Or better yet, find yourself a static that's going to be up to your standards. Just don't stick to the party and yell in the chat when people mess up. There are solutions to everything, and you should tweak your gameplay to find the path of less resistance and make it an enjoyable experience.

I used to have the mentor crown but dropped it, because I didn't feel up to par with explaining everything a newer player might need to know.

That being said, while I love helping and offering advice, I usually do it under specific circumstances:
    • If someone asks specifically
    • If someone is new and the mechanic is one that effects everybody; IE the majority of TG Cid
    • Re-explaining old content where the mechanics are absolutely the focus in case people forgot, like most of Alexander or Chadarnook (as I've had some past experiences with those and folks not being on the ball.)

At the end, I understand the frustrations it can cause when it comes to talking a lot - especially towards someone like me, because I try to crack jokes and break the silence, but I feel being communicative is more important and appreciated than staying silent and waiting for someone else to start, or quit out of frustration.

I still can't believe that one time I ran the lighthouse raid, multiple people in my party said they were new and hadn't run it before, and while I got plenty of comms for explaining boss mechanics to them in one chunk of text during trash(I was typing between GCDs, so it's not like I was basically afk'ing to type), one not-new dude still berated me for explaining mechanics to the new guys. I've since accepted that I need to treat DF like the LFG tool in WoW; don't say a word other then hi and thanks team unless other people start chatting, cause clearly people don't appreciate it.

One person berated you. Lots of people commended you.

Your conclusion: No one appreciates you, don't speak in DF.

It's not the idea that they were "explaining mechanics" that was so bad, it's the quality and frequency of said "explanations". In your case, you say you explained it in one chunk of text, during trash. The person I was venting about is someone who explains to people how to avoid a mechanic, during the mechanic, and dies to said mechanic because they are typing.. (yes, that happened)

Side note, unless someone asks I don't think people should be explaining mechanics anyway. I don't think seeing a new player should invite people to then spoil EVERYTHING for everyone there who is new. Personally, I do content blind, and learn as I go, it's part of the fun for me. I'm not gonna berate someone for doing it though, it's not THAT big of a deal. It's a big deal when chatting is affecting their performance.

I say things like ‘backs to the walls or you get blown off’ when ravana does his little show and there’s new people in the group. Or jump up and down in safe spots on E11.

I find a lot of people who are generally trying to help can come over very condescending with big walls of text. So I’ll keep anything very very simple and won’t ever spoil anything, I’ll just be like ‘need to run to side when he lifts his arms’. This kinda thing.

I'm sort of the opposite, I'll explain it, after I'm dead from it, and note "don't do what I did"

Accidentally queued for Leveling Roulette before starting another weapon quest - so no memory. I was tank. I meant to leave it at the start, but everyone was waiting on me, then I thought well "I'll clear to first boss", then "I'll do first boss for them". Clear first boss and I NEARLY left, but they kept going and even turned around waiting, so I was like "well, I'll clear a little to second boss, they might get a small pull tank"... then we kill the second boss.. 10 minutes in.. too much time investment to leave now. Ugh... I didn't even get a commendation lol.

I was tanking a Titan (Hard) on trial roul where the healer died at the very start on both pulls from standing on cheese pizza.

At some point I popped Living Dead because the only healer wasn't able to keep up with everyone's hp and I was only 1 or 2 autoattacks from dying.

We ended up wiping after everyone but me and the other tank died, and I got told to not use Living Dead because they can't solo heal it, and also because according to their logic it's better for me to die than it is to live 10s longer and stress the healer out

I really don't get why I'm not allowed to use my invuln, I mean yes healing Living Dead sucks but I was mitigating whenever I could and I was dying to autoattacks, not actual mechanics
