I never had an issue with it, I see plenty of bad words get used, shortened or not and if someone feels the need to report me specifically in hopes of getting me banned, may they have this little joy in their life. They seem to need it.

If only I could show you what I was banned for.. Yes, to you readers, you can be banned for even self censoring words. Words that are used in a general sense, not directed at anyone. Trust me. In relation to this thread, yes you can be banned in game for using curse words in the exact same context (despite the filter). Be careful what you post here, or chat in-game.

So right now I'm contemplating my existence after having one of THOSE runs.

I saw tank in need for 5/6/7 roulette, swing myself to DRK NUT, and get thrown in immediately to Moccines' normal. Sweet, I love this dungeon! I look at the rest of our party comp and find myself with a WHM RDM DNC. ALL OF THE AOES! I felt as though I could easily wall-to-wall here because of that sweet, sweet aoe dps from everyone.

Ahaha aha, haaa....I jumped to conclusions again thinking this would be a fast run. The first pull is when I notice something off. WHM popped a pre-pull regen on me, and as I was running to the first barricade, she used...Cure 1...yes, Cure 1. The DNC is aoeing their heart out, the RDM was aoeing, but the WHM...was doing nothing. No cure 2s, no assize, tetra, and absolutely no Holy.

Absolutely. No. Holy. From this WHM. Or any other sort of dps whatsoever. Not even a single aero.

For the entirety of this the dungeon took longer due to absolute lack of aoe or any other on the WHM's part (and occasionally the RDM as I only heard them use enchanted moulinet maybe 5 times the entire run). The bosses and trash took longer than I was comfortable with, and as much as I wanted to get on my hands and knees to plead with this 80 exarchic geared 80-relic whm to help contribute to dps, I realized that was her only combat job she had leveled. Every crafter and gatherer was at 80.

My inner whm couldn't help but silently reeee at this, and decided to just get the dungeon over with. That, and I had a tank earlier that immediately dropped out of Hell's Lid, that jerk, and I really don't feel like being one of those tanks. Last pull before the boss the WHM actually put down an Asylum and I suddenly heard an Assize! Oh lawd, be easy my heart! Then once the last boss started immediately they went back to doing nothing but cure 1 botting, and idling. Somehow we finish the boss with the lacking dps (dnc had to afk mid-fight because their puppos got sick and threw up, so it was just me and the rdm duoing 75% of the fight) and I yeet myself out of there.

That would require people to actually read quest dialogue, you can't even get them to read their ability tooltips.

Aaanyway, I have to apologize to that WHM I accidentally killed in today's normal raid roulette: Anamorphosis
When the Mist Dragon mechanic began, everybody ran across the edge to find the clones. Eventually the group splits into two clusters on both safe spots. That WHM on the other hand was standing on the middle sorta looking lost; it's like she wasn't sure which group she should stick with. My intuition told me to hit that rescue button but I wasn't sure if I really -have- to rescue her or not. This hesitation caused her death as I retrieve her corpse halfway across the platform with those triple 999,999 DMG number to insult the occasion. I could've prevented her death if I didn't hesitate and heed with my intuition.

E12N in Roulette. I am on DRK. Some people are new (like 6 deaths new) and it goes horribly horribly slow. Like i am 4th on dps, slightly behind WAR who's 3rd.
Also E12N is such a bad final raid fight, i do not know where to even begin.

No, ive worked in retail and customer service at several different levels and across different fields. I just consider my work life and home life separately. Lord, for 2 years i worked at a call center in the cancellation department for a large cable company. You want to cancel your service because we suck/overpriced/whatever? Well its my job(on which i was graded and my pay was on the line) to talk you out of it. Believe me, ive heard it all. But i dont go home to one of those "determined to be offended" people. I wouldnt date one of them. Hell, if i found out a friend was like that i would give them the ROYAL telling off of a lifetime to make up for all the customers over all the years that i had to be polite to.

Shortie on topic story so as not to derail too much. Was doing my weekly normal raids(im gearing alt classes and too lazy to craft). Got into a group for E11n. One or two of the players was new. No big deal. They were struggling with the tells for the mechanics, but if you arent asking for tips im not giving them on a first run. One of the healers was sent off the edge by a knockback, and during the rez process i ended up dead to a roomwide because i hadnt been topped off after the last one. Again, no big deal. The dead healer says something like "I think im starting to understand the mechs". This is just as the boss starts introducing the 3rd variety of all his attacks, so i quietly laughed to myself that as soon as they thought they got it the game tossed in something new. Fast forward to the end of the fight. A little under 20% the experienced healer and most of the group dies(he did the puddles mechanic, and they went to the wrong side following someone). So whats left is a tank(my brain says War or Pal, but i dont remember for sure), my BLM, and a bard. First roomwide goes off, and leaves me under half health. I use my shield on the next one since i have realized the situation. The three of us are doing the mechanics flawlessly, im cranking my DPS rotation about as hard as i can, tank is doing everything he can to keep us standing. Around 10% the bard shoots off the LB3. Just as the boss is starting to do one of his more dangerous moves i finish him off. My reward? Lost the loot roll, no thanks or congrats in what had been a semi-active chat, and no comms. I guess i didnt do as good a job as i thought.

Better luck for your rolls next time. Although a wipe isn't the end of the world it's always nice to see people still manage the kill when things went as far south as they can.
But regarding the comms I've heard something a several times now from people who got saved by others and might be the reason some don't comm/ say thank you after someone else did something heroic to save the run: "I don't want to stroke their ego".
Yes, I did a double-take aswell when I first heard it. But I've heard something along those lines whenever this topic is brought up, wether it's during dungeon run banter, NN or LSs. Some people intentionally don't comm/ give thanks because apparently they think the person soloing the boss or doing something outstanding to save the run is already feeling like a hero and they don't want to add to that feeling.
They notice what you did, they just don't want you to feel great about it.

A lot of people argued against it of course, saying that if someone did something great to save a run, it should be acknowledged, even if it's just a silent comm. As much as I dislike watching a fight from the floor while a handful of people kills it and cleans up my mess, the least I can do is acknowledge that they did what I could not. It's not something I take for granted, not many players are able to salvage a seriously messed up run.

To be fair the third variants (with light effects) are a lot easier than the first two, since there's nothing hidden. You can dodge them entirely based on the ground AoE markers, and there's ample time to do so. The fire and lightning variants of the line AoE in particular are dangerous since there's no hints of what to do before the mechanic goes off.
