Im like 25% willing to give Jamie the benefit of the doubt here just because the fight is still very new. For sure, certain past issues will likely continue to be a problem if they havent been or arent soon addressed, but if the group is truly wasting a limit that brazenly this early into a cycle then its hard to lay blame. You know, if that isnt an exaggerated version of events to claim victimhood. Though, now that ive typed that out... im trying to picture how you get to an LB3 in less then the first half of the fight. And with 3 people standing and the boss not close to dead, how anyone other then a healer would press the button unless no healer was standing. Ok, lets say im more like 12.5% willing to give benefit of the doubt. But not 0 yet. Not for another week anyway.

To be fair, OP is notorious for creating thread decrying how horrible x piece of content is, how everyone hates them and etc. Which is why Liam and others have approached this thread with a healthy dose of skepticism.

With that all said, the system itself is fine. If we take this scenario at face value. Thirty minutes isn't long at all. If the party is rude enough you don't want to be apart of it, take the penalty (unfairly or not) and do something else. There just isn't a reasonable way for the devs to program subjective variables. If all it took was a failed Vote Abandon to let you leave penalty free, guess what everyone starts doing?

Yes, yes you should get a penalty. You signed up for duty so you get what you get, if you don't like it, or can't handle it then you make friends, or register duties with an FC, simple as.

Can always alt+f4 and you will go offline after a few and people will generally kick offline people. Or even request a kick. That works sometimes.

I don't care what the party comp is in any content where I can get a penalty but God if I could leave penalty free anytime I see a heavensward weapon in shadowbringers content I would love it.

From my experience if a raid should be abandoned then it will be voted for. And if it’s too soon for that it will not be.

If you struggle to play with randoms perhaps join a FC or static and do it with them.

fully against removal of a penalty for leaving. at that point there is NOTHING to stop someone from being a complete jerk and just joining and leaving part way through a fight or something just to annoy people.

Had a couple tanks for instance agg everything they could then leave the party... fun times...

with a penalty at least they can only be azzhats every 1/2 hour.
