I've been looking for several days now for some way to fight or get these market bots on Coeurl banned, but everything I am seeing looks discouraging. Then I saw this thread and the posts on this page specifically mentioning my homeworld as a messy one. I've been going completely mad on crafting since 5.4 hit and have made quite a bit of money, but as the days have progressed the bots have only become worse. At this point my stuff is getting cut by multiple people within minutes and sales are becoming increasingly difficult. I've identified at least four separate crafters who are either bots or act so much like bots that they might as well be bots.

Short of tanking the market into oblivion, is there really nothing I can do against this?

Stop playing the game. Don't pay your sub. Quit. Doesn't seem like they plan on ever banning marketboard bots. SE would rather take a few extra botter sub money then support our mog station spending habits. A full community of people help direct STF to the bots, tons of evidence, and still the same bots selling for not one month, not two, but almost an entire year. Imagine someone doing your job for you and you completely refusing their help.

lets face it, in order to sell things you have to be fairly aggressive in market strategy in order to sell things. if you are talking about being undercut, thats market life. you WILL get undercut, likely within minutes during peak hours because there are a lot of crafters out there. I might be one of the people doing it if you were on Zalera because, there is no other way to beat the bots. I'll check prices of everything I have up every couple minutes sometimes unless I am out harvesting. difference is, I eat sleep and have a life so am not on 24/7, but if I am marketting, you have to out bot the bots.

What makes me worried about this is that this is exactly what happened in a few MMOs I played prior to FFXIV before they deteriorated to a point of no return and are now in permanent life support.

It is pretty foul and has made me reconsider getting items on the store multiple times. Alas I like the game too much outside of crafting to just quit outright, so this is not a viable solution to me. Also because I'm not willing to lose to people who cheat.

Constant price updates throughout all hours of the day including in the middle of the night, always logged in and located in an inn room or perhaps a locked home, nonsensical retainer names such as just being a bunch of characters, and other stuff along those lines. In other words the sorts of behaviors that make it seem like a character is either being controlled by multiple players or some form of automation. Ir's not particularly difficult to note the difference between a dedicated market player and someone who just seems... unnatural. I won't deny the possibility that some of the people I am wondering if they are bots or not might actually be just crazy players such as myself, but one of two of them are almost certainly bots based on my long-term observations of their actions.

In any case i've never sold anything on Zalera or any other world except Coeurl, so we have never interacted. :3
