I suppose some people might have done that quest years before actually buying a house. So the game could actually help them by providing a reminder at the time of purchase. If they still don't read and understand it, then that can't be helped. And on the flipside, I certainly wouldn't have wanted an extra dialog to click through when racing to get a medium house for my FC in the latest ward expansion (although it was a relocation so it would have been reasonable to assume I already knew all about the rules).

Your suggestion of the demo timer being 6 months- a year would make everything worse then it already is now.

I am shocked and amazed they don't have balconies.
Especially since feeling like a neighborhood is really important to the devs, how cool would it be to sit on your balcony and be able to wave to a neighbor.

Agree an additional reminder would be helpful. I've always felt that the quest would be timed better if it matched when a player becomes eligible to purchase property instead of when they first start playing and are still looking of dozens of hours of time played before they can buy.

They offered an explanation on why this doesn't work in response to a question at the EU FanFest Q&A in 2019. It's because interiors are instanced while the wards aren't (or at least not in the same way). They don't have the technology to allow players to view the non-instanced area from within an instance or vice versa.

As part of the answer to the same question, they said they're working on technology that would give the illusion of looking at the wards from within an instanced area. It still wouldn't be the same as what you're hoping for.

Otherwise, the best they could probably offer would be equivalent to what we get with the inn room in Kugane or the private room at the Crystarium - a scenic view that never changes except for lighting and sky appearance.

Imagine people who play can get a house and people who don't lose it. Rinse repeat.

I bet a lot of players would be happy if they could just place a garden patch on their balcony, even if the view is static. The lack of gardening seems to be one of the major complaint against apartments after all, and the only one which relates to game mechanics.

    They said all that?
Shame... sounds like the problem is baked in and doesn't have a good work around.
    Oh well.
    Thanks for the info Jojoya.

They kinda do have the technology now and the dungeon system kinda proves it through teleports you can have a outdoor instance attached to indoor one so -.-
