6.0 Predictions: Will it be Garlemald, Sharlayan, or Meracydia?

From what has been spoken and shown in the 5.4 trailer...

Looks like Garlemald, Sharlayan, and even Meracydia are up in the air here and possibly none will be the location. Large amounts of Garlemald are reduced to rubble apparently, and we're starting to see towers and whatnot appear in Nym, what looks like a tempered soldier in Ala Mhigo, and several other things. I don't think we're going to Garlemald, I think whatever is about to happen is going to attack us straight in Eorzea.

That will be extremely disappointing if that is the case. If Garlemald is taken out off screen that is just lazy, all that build up for nothing, I will be beyond disappointed, it will be Ala Mhigo all over again. Plus i seriously hope the new expansion is not set entirely in Eorzea, we already have Enough zones there, i want to explore Islabard, finally remove some of the clouds, or go to Sharlayan for the Hub city, hopefully that is just the 5.4 and 5.5 questlines since no new zones where added on the source this expansion and that the 6.0 expansion will take us to a new continent, preferably Islabard.

Also I just found out, apparently the live letter the Warring Triad quests are required for the lvl 80 and on job quests next expansion, and while this might point to Meracydia i do not think it will since that is from the ancient past, the Warring Triad's civilizations are no more and it is apparently a wasteland, perhaps even similar to the burn. So that leaves the other option that it will tie into Regula's storyline, and with people being tempered in the trailer i have a feeling this further confirms that it will Finally be Islabard.

Since it's an extra story after the final role quest, that probably has to do with a certain boy from the Warring Triad quests who has had nothing to do with the story since HW ended. So we're most likely just getting closure to his story.

And possibly one of our shards fused back into us if the theory that he's one of Azem's shards is correct.

This is incorrect. It is only required for the continuation of sidequest you get after completing all role quests. Maybe they can make Warring Triad mandatory for MSQ, but I doubt they will ever make it mandatory to level multiple jobs.

Moving on from that whatever becomes of the capitol I think this is further justification that we are going to Islabard in 6.0 as I imagine the entire continent is being embroiled in chaos and we will have to go there to stop whatever it is Zenos and Fanadiel are planning as well as restore order there.

After the trailer, Garlemald seems that much less likely. There's already been hints at it. Of course, Garlemald's end as a political force does mean Ilsabard would actually be easier to access now, but it depends on the reason for going there.

My current bet is on Sharlayan but not exclusively; it's an island city-state and I think they would struggle to base several zones on it - even with Ishgard, half the zones are in the Sea of Clouds. Rather, I suspect it will figure in as a city state zone where some of the planning and contriving takes place, but Meracydia still looks like a decent bet. Ilsabard is just as serviceable in such a scenario. Maybe even a trip to the moon. Let's not forget that they could also cover a lot of territory through side plots, as they've done with Bozja and Werlyt. I just think there's strong hints towards Sharlayan, for now.

Except we already have more then 30 zones in Eorzea, plus 6 from an alternate version we have seen all there is to see, it is most likely that the problem will be there for the 5.4 and 5.5 patch series since no new zones were added on the Source in ShB besides Bozja and that is special, so they will have to rely on old zones, and i seriously hope they do not waste the six zones of the new expansion, on places we have already seen, I want to see other places on the Source, New Continents, and right now Islabard is at the top of that list, if it is not Islabard again then i will seriously be Disappointed, it has been long enough, it is time to pull back the clouds.

I agree on multiple points but we have still seen no hint what so ever that it will be Meracydia, The chaos in Eorzea will almost assuredly be just the 5.4, and 5.5 patch series since we already have practically explored all of Aldernald, I do think Sharlayan will be the main hub city for the expansion, but right now it seems highly likely that the other zones will be in Islabard, Sharlyan only has its city of note on the map, the rest has less features then Hingashi and we sadly only got to see Kugane there. Islabard meanwhile has some serious plot points going down on it right now, I almost bet that the chaos in Eorzea will be somewhat stabilized in 5.5 and then we will press in to Islabard to stop the even worse chaos that is going on there, and put a stop to Zenos and Fanadiels plan.

Part of me is actually wondering if we're going to the Thirteenth. A voidsent-looking Bahamut, void or Mhach towers, apparently there will be a quest requiring beating both the Warring Triad and the role quests meaning it's probably Unukalhai and Cylvia reuniting.

I don't think it's likely, and I don't think they would do another Shard expansion right after one, but there is a part of me that wonders.
