    Proper Action Bar for PC players

    This is a 6 month old thread that got bumped up somehow, In 1.18 they gave us the option to keep the action bar always on screen and it was mentioned in 2 interviews that they are planning to have all 3 bars at the same time on screen.

    Since all the things in this post have been addresed there's no need for this thread anymore.
    Can start a new one if you have a seperate issue.

    Just kidding (Partially) I agree that all 3 action bars should be shown at the same time (Option to switch between one and all)

    I don't care if i only have 1 action bar or more, but I really wish they'd make it not disappear. It's so annoying having to press 1 to get the bar to pop up so you can see your skills.

    Well it's certainly something that can't be crossover to the console ports very well.

    Half the problem with elegant KB/M interfaces is that this is multiplat.

    Ever try to do that on 720p?

    What FF14 could benefit from the "WoW" saga is scaling UI. By making everything bigger and smaller for the entire UI, you could do squeeze a lot in there, once you have it memorized. (or just have a high resolution monitor).

    Heck we can't even copy and paste.

    FF14 has a tough job of making sure the PC port and the PS3(probably) and whatever else ports all get a fair shake.

    The drama is insane if FF11 is any historical reference.

    I seem to recall Yoshi-P saying that PC and PS3 versions were not going to be ports one way or the other. I don't remember if it was in a dev letter or one of the interviews. I also seem to recall him saying that while they had a version of the PC client working on the PS3, that they were going to develop a PS3 version specifically for the PS3. Which needs to be done.

    That being the case (and as I can't remember where/when it was said, so please take with a grain of salt) there is absolutely no reason to have separate UIs for the two that are optimized for the two.

    This is one of my biggest issues right here. Especially that it can dissapear during combat too, if ur not spamming abilities.

    Also, Rift has the system where you can press up and down to change bars like ff14. But if you want more active bars on screen, like in OP's screenshot, you have to go into the interface options and add them in.

    I don't see why they couldn't just do this in ff14. Just leave it the same, but add a feature for PC users to add extra ability slots above ur main bar. ALSO MAKE THEM NEVER DISSAPEAR! Thought i should mention that again. Soo annoying.

    This is just another reason why there needs to be a PC-specific UI available.

    They likely plan (planned?) to use the exact same UI for both PC users and PS3 users. And that's just lazy. There are so many possibilities when playing with a PC, and MMO players (who are accustom to playing on the PC) expect a functional UI.

    There doesn't have to be any tactical advantage over the PS3 UI.

    How do you know FF14 on ps3 wont be 1080p?
