Just queued manually into Mhach raid, as a WAR for glam.
People dubbed the raid title as "Wiping City of Mhach" so I was expecting one or two wipes in my quest for that tank's glam. But nope, cleared everything without wipes.
On my 3rd run however, thrown into team B.
First spider boss, nobody starting the pull? I'm like "Okay, I will pull & try my best."
That's when the team A's tank came in. A Gunbreaker. This GNB seems to use her Provoke on cooldown (!) on basically every target available in this run.
"Oh God, Why...?"I thought.
I just shrug it off when it's done on packs, but bosses? At least stand on top of me (or the current MT) so you won't turn the boss around & mess with positional.
My adrenaline was somewhat high on the last boss in the run because I'm worried she might cleave the rest of raid with that half-arena wide AoE.
Ironically the aggro went back to me everytime after 2-4 attacks without me using my Provoke. [/shrug]
Practice makes perfectI can relate to this experience so much as I had a similar trouble handling healing as WHM lv70 because I leveled it from 50 to 70 purely by MSQ roulette (yes, lesson learnt). I had absolutely no grasp on whatever skills learnt on those level range which in turn I massacred a party as a result... surprisingly, in Holminster too. This mystifies me because I first cleared this dungeon on not-so-geared SCH on my first run for Main Quest with less to no trouble. Three wipes in a row on first wall pull, but we pulled it off on 4th try, then everything onward progressed smoothly. I'm surprised nobody was leaving (and supportive too), so I'm very thankful to that group

"Outside obvious jokes/sarcasm, I aim to convey my words to the future readers who may come across mine posts. Can I change -your- mind, somehow? Potentially... but that's not why I'm writing. You and I have wrote our piece(s). We don't necessarily need to change each other's mind. But we can change other's."
Dun Scaith.
Some people at the start: "Hello i am new" "I am also new".
So, i already see where this is going aka deaths deaths and more deaths.
Deathgaze was hilarious. People died to everything up to an including not cleansed Doom. After someone in the alliance chat started posting all the strats, which... weren't quite followed, but nothing notable happened until Scathach where people again were dropping to to simple stuff and we almost had a wipe at the end where the add spawned and people kepts dpsing the boss, and we had her at 0.1% with lonely healer finishing her off.
And then Diabolos went as well as could have been expected. People not standing in the circles, tanks not soaking the central meteor circle. People running away with the stack markers. People not joining the normal orange stack marker when it's right there and the like.
!!FUN!! Scaith, indeed.
Sometimes rumors are just... rumors.

To be fair, "Wiping City" lived up to its name pretty well when it was current content. Arachne wasnt bad. Some people couldnt(honestly still cant) figure out Forgall's megadeath if you tattood the solution in an easy to see and painfully unforgettable place. Calofistari was mostly easy, but the bleed on the hair-cut attack was sharp enough to drop a non-tank in 1-2 ticks if they werent immediately healed. Ozma was the actual problem. People couldnt do assimilation. People couldnt drop meteors properly. People couldnt remember which shape used which attacks. A pull that didnt see some random person(maybe more then one) lose track and go over the edge was uncommon. Im sure some people still have nightmares from that fight.

So I dont usually post in the forums, but I saw this thread and felt I had to share my experiance that nearly made me cry today.
I was doing tam tara deepcroft as a tank.
As I always do when I come into a dungeon I ask if its okay for my todo long pulls and that I usually pull 2-3 mobs at once, I do this to be considerate for the healer who may not be comfortable with that. I had no response usually this means their fine with it.
Well I pull the first 3 mobs and I uise reprisal and rampart, and before I know it im dead, the entire party then dies.
The same is done again, I then die again, Me and the archanist in the group eventually realize the ehaler isnt healling at all, and is using stone2 over and over again.
The archanist ends up healing me the entire dungeon whilst the conjurer does not and we do one pull at a time

To all those who will happily quit Castrum Meridianum just because it's not Praetorium, I'd like you to take your character and press the "Delete" button.
Context: I just got out of an MSQ roulette where I was slotted into an in-progress Castrum run that hadn't even started before more than half the party up and quit because they hadn't landed Praetorium. Making it doubly worse was that there was a first timer in the party. We managed in the end though. I did get lost a couple times because I'm not used to being the lead in Castrum but nobody really minded.

I aim to make my posts engaging and entertaining, even when you might not agree with me. And failing that, I'll just be very, VERY wordy.Originally Posted by Packetdancer

Guys, I have one hell of a juicy story that you’d have to have been there to believe XD I don’t know the rules for mentioning characters by name, so I won’t mention my 2 awesome teammates (RDM and AST) by name. Brace yourselves, folks, this is a long tale of laughs and disbelief.
I’ve just come back today to Torture Roulette (aka Mentor Roulette) after a little over a year of hiatus. Anyway, I’ve done a good number of runs today, but this one by far takes the cake.
So I get tagged into The Twinning in progress (6 minutes in) and I see this one BRD all by his lonesome. After greeting in chat and asking what happened (which I never got a reply to), I make my way to my fellow musical artist and stand next to him. His first words to me were magical and heartwarming: It’s another BRD...
Not gonna lie, guys, this hurt my delicate feelings. *gasp* One of my people feeling disappointed to see me? It broke my heart </3. I asked what was bad about that. No reply. I commented about the music at least being good while we wait. No response.
Aaaanyway, We’re 2 lonely silent BRDs waiting, and just when I thought all hope was lost, a godsend joins: a tank (PLD). But my joy is short-lived as my fellow BRD leaves immediately after thisAnother DPS (RDM) joins soon after, though, and then the BRD who left comes back as SCH. I thought to myself: Cool! Let’s get this show on the road!
So we start with the second pull in the dungeon (the first pull after the first jump), and it doesn't go too badly except for the tank's HP dropping a bit on the low side at times. We move on to the next pull, and the tank only pulls 2 enemies. This is too little, so I politely ask them to please pull more if they could. The kind-hearted tank obliges. He pulls the next group of enemies then softly melts as if he’d gotten dropped in a pool of lava. The SCH clearly was overwhelmed and I felt bad since I was the one who suggested pulling more. We all die but go back stronger and more determined than ever and work our way through that pull again, this time more slowly. We somehow stumble through to the first boss. We engage the boss and we’re not doing too bad... except for the severe lack of healing. It legit looked like the SCH was only relying on the fairy to heal and they’d just stand there DPSing from time to time. The healing was so lacking to the point where our RDM had to work as a co-healer. And when the SCH hit the glass and released an add, I immediately grabbed aggro on it and ran for my life to the tank to save me and grab it off me... which never happened. I continued to get slapped till the add was killed, with the poor RDM trying to keep me (and everyone else) alive.
Luckily, we survive.
The RDM asks if the healer is afk. No response.
We soldier on.
First pull after the boss, the tank goes out of existence again in the blink of an eye. I honestly don’t even know how we finished that pull. 0 heals were given that day/pull (except from the poor slave who's finally relevant again, known as Selene). But when the tank was going for the next pull, I noticed something... suspicious, to say the least. I legit saw the SCH on follow, going after the tank. I pointed this out and the RDM backed me up on this whole fishy thing going on with the SCH. We theorized it might’ve been a bot.
Anyway, before the next pull, we vote kick the SCH. We don’t wait too long before another healer (AST) joins. Hooray! Now we can continue. But then I get a vote abandon that I decline and it doesn’t go through.
No matter! We got this now.
But wait!
Uh-oh! Is that the Pokéball of doom over the head of the tank? D:
It doesn’t take a genius to conclude the tank initiated the vote abandon and then ragequit when it didn’t go through. I told my teammates I was tempted to stay just to spite the tank since he was clearly waiting for us to kick him. To my joy, my 2 teammates shared my sentiment
As we were chatting about the run, the RDM said something I had never come across before and didn’t even know was possible. He/she said that it could have been the same person playing on 2 accounts at the same time. And what do you know! The AST said they had come across something similar in Anyder. It was a tank and a BRD duo. And out of curiosity, the AST did a Lodestone character search on the PLD.
It was the same tank they had come across.
The AST was curious about the BRD who re-rolled as SCH, and I gave them the name.
It was the same BRD they had come across with the tank.
What a small world!
As we are chatting about this amazing coincidence, our PLD comes back online, only to vote abandon then go offline again after it doesn’t go through. He also ignores everything we said to him in chat. BummerA few minutes later, the tank comes back online again. Seeing he was still in the instance, he votes abandon again but this time leaves when it doesn’t go through.
The 3 of us were just patiently waiting for the tank role to get filled. And who do you think joined?
Ding ding ding! It’s the same PLD who left
We laughed so hard.
Seeing it was the same instance he had left, the tank votes abandon again then leaves when it doesn’t go through
We went back to talking, but then a few minutes later, our favorite tank dropped by again
Only to ditch us yet again after yet another rejected vote abandon
And this is when we all agreed to stay till time ran out, if necessary, to be there for our beloved tank each time he came back. God, I’m so glad I ran into people who were on the same wavelength and page about this.
What happened after was a series of events of the tank getting tagged into our instance time after time, and us being there to greet him over and over in chat. Every single time the tank came back, he’d vote abandon then leave when it was rejected. After a few times, we upgraded our greeting to the premium version and returned to the entrance to greet the tank in person every time with dances and different cheering emotes. Rinse and repeat. The amount of sass, sarcasm, and trolling in the chat was off the charts. The whole thing was just hilarious. The tank spoke to us a few times, and even the way he was talking sounded off. Like they were a bot or something. The PLD told us that wasn’t how it worked (or something weird along these lines) and that we had to kick him, to which we clearly replied that we had no intention to. After a few more failed tries on his part, he said he wasn’t coming back, but it turned out he loved us too much to abandon us as he kept coming back to usAnd even when the AST told the tank about the way to stop coming back to our instance, the PLD still kept coming back. Either the one brain cell he had disintegrated thanks to us, or the bot was like: CANNOT COMPUTE. CANNOT COMPUTE.
I’ve rarely laughed this much in random content with strangers. The whole situation was so unbelievable yet real. After it was made clear we weren’t giving up and that we were here to stay, our beloved tank said with unshakable determination that he wasn’t coming back this time.
It was a sad, sad day. Our tank walked out on us and never looked back (T_T).
Some time after this, we got another tank. I’ve rarely felt this disappointed in my life. I had already chosen my next emote to greet our beloved tank with. The run was smooth sailing once we got a competent tank and no bots.
All in all, the 3 of us had probably spent a little over 60 minutes in that run, trolling the tank. I never expected to have this much fun just standing in an instance instead of doing the content. I’m blessed to have been able to witness and be part of this whole adventure.
To my fellow mischievous AST and RDM: You rock! You were really awesome, and I’m glad we all ran into each other in that fateful run XD
P.S.: The PLD had the mentor crown -.-
