[Petition] Give both genders access to the currently gender locked poses.

Yes this is relatively minor, and yes this has been discussed before. Which are only more reasons for me to post this petition.

I think there's only winners if this small change gets implemented and don't see a reason not to. It's even worse considering that everyone loves these poses from promotional material alone. The Dragoon pose is used in the trailers but only males get to use it. Same with the Dark Knight pose with the sword on your shoulder. We see it in cinematics and it's even in the Shadowbringers' logo! Yet only a portion of the players gets access to it. So once again, just give both genders both poses. Please.

The sword on the shoulder is really silly looking & unrealistic af- unless the sword was made of plastic there'd be no actual way that would be possible without something there to lift the sword, not to mention that once it's on the shoulder, it'll probably crush your neck unless all of the weight is shifted to hold it upright- Anime Claymores of that size & caliber would just crush things like a hammer, not slice. But that's the nerd side of me--

about your actual topic - you're right- there would only be winners & I very much think SE should consider & implement in unlocking poses for everyone +1

    Sure.

Character gender should really have no bearing on how you hold a damn sword. Not in this game, where you can tank Titan as the smallest lalafell or the largest roe. It is ultimately a silly restriction, and a contrived way of making these exclusive poses feel "special" cause they're locked to their respective gender.

Sorry don't agree. Different genders should have different poses. I think what they're doing is just fine.

Out of curiousity, what's your reason for disagreeing with it? I don't think the way someone holds their weapon is something gender defining.

Personally, I'd love to be able to use the DRG or PLD male poses.

Holding it over one shoulder is no more unrealistic that using a giant spike-covered slab of metal posing as a sword in the first place. And let's not even get into the magic side of the job. Or some of the grips on these things, which should grind our hands off trying to wield them....

Realism was never a factor with weapon design in this game, so why let it interfere with fun?

I like diversity when it comes to male and female emotes. I don't buy the make them so both can be the same. Sorry but if they make them both available which they won't you can expect for the future only one set of emotes for both genders instead of two. They won't make two if they both get the same.

That doesn't apply to regular c-poses, so I think it shouldn't apply to the combat c-poses either. As long as there's enough variety in poses (which there is) you won't see everyone doing the same pose. With this change they only give players the freedom to choose what fits their character the best. And at the end of the day, if the majority of the FFXIV community wants to see this change I think it should happen in this case.

So you're the majority huh? Mind providing the survey where that is the case. You mean the wanna be the same crowd on this forum when it comes to emotes, gear, glamour and so on being the same for everyone isn't the majority.

Isn't this thread about poses, not emotes? Y'know, the pose that happens when you draw a weapon/sit/stand/doze, and then use /changepose?

Assuming you were talking about poses, keep in mind that the most recent idle /changepose additions were the new /doze poses in patch 3.35 (over 4 years ago). Prior to that, we had additional seated poses added in patch 3.1 (almost 5 years ago), weapon idle poses added in patch 2.38 (6 years ago), and new standing/seated poses added in patch 2.28 (about 6 years and 3-4 months ago).

I wouldn't expect them to be adding any new ones any time soon. And if they do, I wouldn't be surprised if it were one set of poses for both genders.
