This happened to me yesterday. Had two CE my group got into one and while we were still about halfway into prep for the CE we were in Castrum pops. Was just frustrating. Its about as hard as 24m raid, the general issue right now is the lack of players doing it, still not many folks 10+, some think its going to be hard, and worst, castrum offen pops when there is CE going on already... Enlisting is way too short for it, feel like they need bump it up to 5-7 for enlisting then maybe another 5-7 for entering/prep, of which folks can just enter if they missed enlistment but it hasnt been completely filled.
Castrum isn't hard. Red chocobo literally does no damage. Lost reflect and stand in the middle all day.
I think the CEs and Castrum are just about the right level of difficulty if you ask me.. CEs aren't quite savage, yet they're a far, far cut above any dungeons which is a nice level of difficulty for players that do desire the middle ground, that is if I were to give my opinion on their difficulty. Give it time for people to adjust to the mechanics, and then get them into muscle memory then it will all be fine. Content is still very much new after all!
i haven't had a chance to run it yet, but people are telling me that it's no more difficult than day 1 Puppets' Bunker. give it a week and there will be enough people familiar with it that it's old hat to them and they can pass that knowledge down
I have to agree here. It's not insanely hard, but it is casual content, but with story and bozjan gear locked behind really challenging instance. It is not good design, but i believe our beloved Yoshi P just wants to artificially stretch lifetime of content. It will take weeks to get a clear for non-neet players.
I'd say the fights themselves are a bit harder than Puppet's, the main issue is that there's little to no room for error. You basically get 2 wipes for the entirety of the Castrum, after that you won't have enough time to clear everything. And the first and final fights put the success of the party outside your hands to an extent since they involve splitting the party, and if one party fails, everyone fails. I've only done the fight 3 times, but so far I've yet to see a party clear the split in the final fight. Apparently the DPS check is decently tight

My one time in there, the party that went up top in the final fight couldn't get down below 65% on the guy there. We wiped on it three times. Other than that, the first boss having to rely on each part being killed close enough together is a bit of a pain with the core demanding attention up top, and the rest of the place is pretty easy honestly.I'd say the fights themselves are a bit harder than Puppet's, the main issue is that there's little to no room for error.
