So i decided to run some Copied Factory and Puppets Bunker while I was doing laundry past midnight. I was rolling a dps job and just trying not to fall asleep but as a result i died a few times in each run. I stopped running them at 4am and logged out minutes before posted this.

In all my groups Half the players were playing like they were awake while the other half were playing as if they were half asleep, including me. Most groups were silent and not much said but this one group for copied factory had alot of drama occur in chat due to like 2 people stirring up drama by blaming other players (mainly tank) for their losses. Meanwhile only 5 people were new to it and those complaining about it tended to be the new players to the content based on achievement pop-ups. Those complaining in the other alliances were shouting "kick the tank" while the others in chat were blaming not explaining the mechanics before the pull. This went back and forth for the whole run and a few players nearly rage quit the run.

Meanwhile I mainly tried to keep silent and when i spoke up I just tried to either lighten the mood by saying things like "we can do this!" and "I understand how you feel as it's 3am here but don't give up" and so on. We managed to beat it after the 3'ish attempt at the last boss. The tank getting alot of tank aggro and demands to kick him went afk abit as loot was being rolled, while he was afk I tried to cheer him up by emoting him things like /pet and /hug as I knew they received alot of aggro from their fellow players in this run. He eventually came back and moved about and the loot was rolled and everyone left.

Moral of the story?
Don't give up and focus on working together an not against each other.

First of all, I am -SO- in love with this thread! I'd like to thank many people who contribute many entertaining stories that I can read while I ran through runs like Praetorium Likewise, I'm going to pick & share what I ran in recent time. One good and one bad run, so here we go!

The bad run:
It was about 2 days after I first received my own mentor icon so I was like 'Hey, I still have a lot to learn but I wanna help with what I can!'. I know, naive of me But I still want to gave it a shot! So I turned on the icon, switch to my pre-50 DRK and insta queue to leveling roulette. It's normal Qarn temple, matched with 1 sprout WHM, 1 sprout DRG & 1 non-sprout RDM. 'Seems good!' I thought!

It was a very slow run, and here's what happened:
1. The sprout WHM throws regen early into the pull and stand around doing nothing until either the mobs are dead or I'm dangerously low that it sends her into cure I & II frenzy. (a sprout, and probably insecure)
2. RDM was casting his arsenal of spells in no apparent pattern. But 7 out 10 times, it was a hardcasted Veraero, Verthunder, and Impact. Jolts, Veraero II and Verthunder II came out occasionally but sometimes he does something like: Veraero II --> Swiftcast (wait, what?) --> Jolt (!!!). Even worse he often 'pauses' between casts.

DRG? Doom Spike comes in lv40 so...can't blame he's not AoEing. He just couldn't.

I only started to notice the RDM hardcasting shenanigans a while before first boss wipe because low dmg & everybody but myself died to doom. I explained as simply as possible before 2nd try. No response, I assumed they read that so we rolled again.. to fail. We wiped again. (No, bees aren't the problem and never was)

At this point I brought my danger bongo macro to annoy the hell out of everybody of the incoming mechanic and to -read- my explanation. FINALLY, the WHM and DRG actually doing the mechanic, albeit clumsily. RDM? No change. Poor WHM was actually burning her MP to raise this RDM who kept dying to the doom mechanic. We finally beat the first boss and progress on very slowly toward the end of run. Surprisingly nothing much changes besides the sprouts were clearly trying their best. "RDM?" you asked? I have lost count to how many times he had died to boss AoE because of those 'pauses' on his movement between casts. Playing RDM myself, albeit in average performance, I wished to offer some advice (for the healer too actually because I mained healer role), but I suck it up and stay silent. Apparently my FC-mentor advised to me to only give out advice if asked because sometimes we won't know when our good-willed chats will be taken as an attack to another player's gameplay. 'I've learnt the hard way' as my mentor said.

I gave my comm to the DRG since personally I believe he was doing the most work out of all three of them. Turned off my icon for the rest of the day after I'll try again next time when I can, lol.

Now the good run:
Today, rolling as a SCH into expert roulette and got Heroes' Gauntlet (Yay!), paired with a PLD, NIN & DNC.

It was overall a pretty good run. Stuffs are melting faster than average runs, nobody's taking unnecessary damage, everybody knows what they're doing. EXCEPT one oddity that I don't came across many times despite it being a reasonably common notorious encounters, at least according to what I've seen or read so far.

Clemency

No, it's not an offense in any sense to me, personally. I like the animation (lol). I just felt weird because the PLD was using Clemency -sometimes- in middle pulls & 3rd boss encounter when it was clear he or other DPS wasn't in danger of dying from incoming damage. I still have many tools I can expend at that point, i.e. stuffs like Seraph, Fey Union, letting the Whispering Dawn ticks, etc. His HP wasn't even pingpong-ing and he use it like when he's around 40% - 70% range + no immediate high damage in next 8s or so.

That antic left some of my tools that I usually use, left unused. Not that I'm trifled, I just felt weird 'cause it's probably my first time seeing this oddity in Heroes' Gauntlet.

We finished the run under 14 minutes (woohoo!) and thanked each other before exiting They were all polite too!

Clemency pld wat?

You can cut posts, post it, then go into edit mode and paste the text you cut.

Your Qarn run sounds like the rdm had no clue as to what the hell they were doing, probably a fresh job-unlock without doing the combat job quest that comes right after getting it. And from the sounds of it, left their hotbar as it was, which is really bad. For some reason the game will not bother to put your ver-2 spells on it, but it will put your single-target, Scatter, and your melee combos on just the first hotbar.

The rdm repeatedly dying to the doom mechanic and not responding to chat sounds like they were expecting a carry or just plain silly.

As for your HG run, I think your pld was a bit insecure, unless he was using it to pop Divine Veil. I know I sometimes do this when raidwides are going to hit in a bit, as that shield lasts 30 seconds, because letting the healer contribute dps is smexy. Then again I've yet to get that far into ShB storyline, so I would not be familiar with that dungeon.

Some time ago, i end up randomly in a group with the tank having less life than me as a MCH. In fact, with less life than everyone else. I don't even look at the tank's stuff to see why this is a thing since i am usually too lazy to do that, and after the healer making a "when you have more life as a healer than the tank" snarky comment we begin the dungeon anyway, expecting a very bad run.

And everything did go very well, without any problem at all. He was using his mitigation tools when needed, and was never close to dying. And he was also hitting all mobs correctly, making for me impossible to rip aggro from him, and even wondering why it does happen so often that i get the aggro back with a few spread shots in a pack with tanks who are way better geared.

Even if the healer must have been doing his job well, the tank did get my commendation anyway just for the flawless aggro holding.

Here I am! Back at it again with the... bad... stuff.

Don't you love it when a whole party enables bad play? Yeah? ME TOO!...

Let me explain. Alliance Roulette. On WHM. Throws me into Thunder God's House (Monastery)
Nothing really stands out on the add pull. The tanks are spinning the first boss for a bit which is annoying for the handguns but oh well. I start to notice the RDM in our party vercuring. Donno why.. but they are. Now I'm watching them for a bit.. “Veraero II” “Verthunder II” “Impact” ..Oh my..
Watch a little longer. Sure enough. Thats what they're doing. Bottom on aggro to prove it. (PS4 user here so thats what I'm going on dmg)

So. I ask in chat why they are aoeing. Nothing (Shocker) I watch. Still at it.
I point out their aoe skills and say they shouldn't be using them on single targets/bosses. Aaaand Nothing. Second boss. Co-heals dies. Lays there with a raise. Someone points out something happened and they stepped away.. SOMEONE... Being the RDM... ...No... way... so I. Being me. Say in chat “Oh. So you can read” I get a '???' .. I ONCE AGAIN. Point out they are using aoes on their single target rotations... Anything? Nothing? No? Okay cool..

Now I'd just like to point out the rest of the party has talked a bit. So they aren't mute. But NO ONE. Has said anything backing me up saying this is wrong play.. The mentor in the party? Nah. Only me seems to have a problem with this happening... Well.. Alright then. I'm kinda hoping the fact the RDM and Co-healer. Being in the same server with two other people may lead to me being kicked for being annoying at this point. But loot is staying up so its not happening.

Thunder God goes down without much problem while Im doing an internal mantra of “Don't look at it. Don't look at it" for the RDM's cast bar as we reach the last boss..
Now... I'm a weee bit petty. So.. I start doing what most annoying healers do in duties. I start walking around... looking at the room taking in the sights.. Zero dps came from my little staff. But I did heal and even raised a few times (Two of those being my co-healer) I wait till past the healer check. Cause if we wipe my party may actually grow a backbone, and do something about me now. So after... I'm still doing no dps aaand start zoning out a bit. Leading to me getting hit with some stuff.. Okay a lot of stuff. And I die. Aaaand I may have accidentally HELD down that release button... Don't you hate it when you accidentally HOLD DOWN a button? Yeah.. shame that.. Now I'm at the front. Afk. Waiting for this to end. No one says anything. Boss dies. “Ggs” from people. Wait for loot and I leave... to a few comms... NO! I don't WANT your dirty comms.. take em back!.... UGH....

This is a pretty great thread. Good stories, bad stories, funny stories, frustrating stories. Im a better tank and healer then i naturally would be just from reading some "What Not To Do" type things on here(note, i still suck at both rolls but im sure i would be even worse - this is why if you ever see me in a group im probly on BLM). And unless these forums have a maximum number of replies a thread can reach, i cant imagine this going anywhere. Afterall, as long as the game exists there will be incredble runs to share. Whether theyre incredibly bad, surprisingly great, or they went inexplicably off the rails. All are welcome here.

Me and a friend queued for Puppets bunker for the first time yesterday. I went on MNK with the exact minimum Ilvl.

Have to say it was such an awesome party (and alliance as a whole wasn’t bad either). Apologised to healer for dying and they were like ‘nah I raised you into a pizza slice, my bad’ . People were calling out key tactics, a healer who was marked went into all the right spots. Dps was really strong, new people were helped out, some veterans carried us through rough spots.

Lots of deaths but everything was cleared first time and quickly. Wonderful raid, wonderful group.

To the Relic 60 Dungeon Farm Group I joined today, that I left after 1 go because it was my last item: I'm sorry. I feel terrible honestly. I did NOT use my brain, thought "hey just a fast last one with this nice full BLU grp and I'll be done" and only after the run realized that this is a jerk move beyond belief. Surely enough I was met with a "wtf" and the questeion why I did not single queue.
I got instant karma.
3 terrible groups in a row.
MSQ with people at 80 with iLvl 500 relic weapons that didn't know Castrum apparently, did everything wrong at every step possible.
Stone vigil (hard) where the healer bailed after the first pack and we got none. tank and other dps wanted to move on, we died a lot, no healer came, it was abandoned.
PotD, a group of full red aetherpool weapon fellas where one was really adamant on collecting every GOLD chest possible. Even on FLoor 59.
Please, by the Twelve, I did penance, rest easy on my soul

Gettin Gubal Library, doing 2-3 pulls as a PLD, and SCH says the pulls are too big.
Also SCH: Adloing and physicking me at full HP, so they were on full curebot mode
Ninja: healing and attacking optimally without losing all your mp can be hard, DPS is brain dead

Also Ninja: doesn't use ninjutsu, no suiton, no katon, nothing. I just look at them using Spinning Edge and Gust slash over and over again even during big pulls and avoiding the AoE buttons like the plague.

I mean, if you want to delude yourself to say you're doing well when you're getting carried by the other DPS, then sure.

Here's a doozy. I've been playing for a little over a month now and I run dungeons a lot. I love them and I've only ever encountered a handful of truly nasty people. Like 8 or so have made it to my blacklist, it's mostly all emote spammers in Limsa. Anyway, I join Sastasha(Hard) as GNB, done it quite a few times already and give a warm greeting, followed by pulling the first and second mob group together. Easy and exciting stuff for a little sprout tank and/or healer.

I pop rampart and reprisal to help heals out as a good tank should but I notice my health going down to like 10% and staying there.. So I pop the rest of my lvl 50 CD's except for bolide just praying for a heal. A few LONG seconds later.. My first heal! Although I barely scrape through that and I'm already a bit on edge even though I never sweat it on that size pull. The healer says his first words, something very similar to "don't use all of your cd's at once". That made me almost explode into a giggle fit on the ground but I have a job to do so I keep going silently just shaking my head with the odd convulsion here and there.

I notice he is the one with the crown next to his name so I think oh okay, it makes sense, he's just a overly enthusiastic mentor dude looking to stroke his ego for a bit Then we get to the first boss and half way through the heals are no where in sight I mean all four of us down to like 15% and then we wipe. The three of us sprouts start silently running back, meanwhile he fires off a nifty little shot at the summoner basically saying "dont use physick SMN its useless". Now it hits me.. While we've been busy killing stuff, he's been busy writing a full assessment of our abilities as best as an overly enthusiastic mentor can. Except instead of politely showing us how to efficiently do the the dungeon he himself has done the opposite.

You can taste the tension in the air as we progress slowly forward. Three silent sprouts and the mentornator, creating a twister upon his keyboard with which he furiously assesses our incompetence. After we somehow manage to kill the boss this up and coming world dominator makes it his sole purpose in life to put the summoner under his crosshairs. He shoots criticism after criticism at the silent sproutling, I'm now doing my absolute best to get these sprouts to the light at the end of the tunnel, without pulling too much or too little hoping I don't ignite the imperial vanguard back there and slow us down even more.

We make it to the end thank the gods. As much as I'd like to stay and shake the hands of my fellow sprouts, I was already feverishly hitting up contacts to blacklist that corrupted scourge. He is now chilling in the abyss next to a healer who decided to pull everything for me. Apart from that everything else has been quite peachy! Hopefully there was only one of him.
