I think it's more like: girl joins linkshell, girl starts cybering with male ls members, girl joins vent eventually, girl has very manly deep voice... , male ls members want to die in a fire.



On a more serious note: In WoW when ingame chat was introduced people still used out-of-game chat. It's nice to have the chat not being dependant on the game, because when your game crashes you can still communicate (tell others you're dcing & hear from others when you can get back in), very convenient during events.

You can also run Vent, TS and Mumble off of smart phones. Also not possible for everyone but another alternative.

Haven't seen any Mumble app for iOS other than that craptastic unofficial one. Nothing on Cydia either.
