    Berserker is the least likely since warrior fills that niche. However It would be cool to have a heavy hitting melee DPS job. all the current are light, nimble jobs and all the jobs with huge 2h weapons are tanks. So having Berserker or Viking with a giant hammer (kind of like what gaia weilds) would be cool and the separate party roles would help create a level of distinction from warrior.

    It is interesting to note that all three of those jobs, Berserker, Chemist, and Necromancer were first featured in FFV (ffv advance in the case of necromancer).
    If SE adds berserker, they better do it right. The ultimate casual experience with nothing but Auto Attacks and 30 different self buffs all called "Berserk"/ all running on different cooldown times so it almost looks like GCD spinning when you just spam all the berserk skills while auto critting for 40000 dmg every 2.6 seconds. Sure, they could give it a moveset, but it wouldnt be authentic at all.

    If WAR didn't have that berserk aspect to it, then I'd like a Maiming gear melee that wields a hammer for Berserker. But it's not likely.
    Maybe they can still do that sort of job though, but with a different identity and gimmick.

    Theres always Viking or Mystic Knight(FF14 edition tm) it is odd we dont have a hammer user for sure. Used to be the original WHM weapon of choice

    I think Viking might be similarly too similar to WAR tbh, the same aesthetic with nordic inspired skill names, uses Axes and it's signature skill was 'Provoke'... but a new take on Mystic Knight or Rune Knight could work.

    Yeah Vikings thing was what provoke originally, and afaik only had 1 appearance. But Mystic Knights been around in various games, whether they called it Temple Knight or Rune Fencer or whatever. Always a possibility. Considering we got so many blade users, they could give it Mjolner and combine RuneFencer with Viking aesthetics. Probably call it something different

    Berserker is basically WAR with a Greatsword, so you could claim it = either.

    WAR got a hammer as it's Dwarven weapon at around level ~78.

    I’ve written a bit on it, but just to add fuel to the fire.. I speculate we will or will not eventually see (over several expansions):

    Necromancer: Strong No; borderline impossible
    *Has been presented as raising undead minions and exploding/sacrificing them. (5.3 dungeon, Mhachi bosses, Edda)
    *Difficulty due to China (extreme amount of work as all assets and story would need to be changed just for China; not worth effort)
    *Problematic due to lore (undead stuff is always taboo, see Alchemy story; Ul’dah background; general bad vibes already established)
    *A class that does not do as necromancer has been presented this far would simply not be a necromancer (Instead, perhaps a totem shaman or hex witch)
    *With the exception of an add on dungeon in FF5 years after initial release, no main FF game has released Necromancer as a playable class. FF11 was going to but it got changed to puppet master.

    Mystic Knight: Strong Yes
    *Has precedent in several games.
    *Traditionally have a middle eastern vibe that fits Thavnair.
    *Scimitar type sword not been used.

    Viking: Hard Maaaaybe
    *There is precedent in several games
    *There is a region near Sharlayan with obvious Viking aesthetics (Aerslaent)
    *Not sure on weapons, but I would wager dual axes, or axe and shield.
    *Significant overlap with Warrior or Dark Knight. Would need to feel and look quite different (like wearing animal skins or the above dual wielding). Even the concept of dual axes conflicts with Maurader’s icon.
    *Reworking has been done before (Viking sword and others with the same model were originally knives for Paladin, got reworked into a weapon for ninja)
    *Could easily be an offshoot of Warrior (not like SMN/SCH, just lore).
    *I very much think this will be wrapped into Beastmaster.
    *Highly doubt this will actually be called “Viking”...

    Time Mage: Weak yes
    *There is precedent in several games (I know this is getting old)
    *Fits with Sharlayan theme (eg. Alexander)
    *Problematic...Some reworking needed as there is slight overlap with Astrologian, and balance issues since buff/debuffs are essentially non existent in game now.
    *Would be easy to repurpose BLM rods and/or Whm wands for a new line of weapons.

    Geomancer: weak yes
    *Precedent. Yep.
    *Established in lore.
    *Problematic in that it has overlap with Whm and lore wise Astrologian (kinda 2 sides same coin).
    *Would be easy with reworking Whm to lose Stone/Aero earlier for identical but alternative named abilities (like how glare is used now. Dia is the obvious choice for Aero).
    *Could easily be lore wise an offshoot of Conjurer (not like SMN/SCH, just lore).

    Beastmaster: Mixed bag
    *It has been foretold!...no no just more precedence.
    *I think this will be wrapped into Viking, and essentially a melee summoner.
    *Or alternatively a more fleshed out limited job for soloing content like Eureka.

    Thief: Strong No
    *It was a boss in a dungeon.
    *Most likely a tongue and cheek joke by devs. (“This is a job we’re never adding”)

    Berserker: Strong No

    *Too similar to Warrior.
    *Could wrap into Viking.

    Chemist: Strong yes, but renamed.
    *There is some precedence, but the name and description is too similar to Alchemist

    *I see this being more of a technology based healer than chucking potions or actually mixing things.

    I definitely wondered the same thing when running that dungeon, and I'll honestly totally on-board with the idea of those three as Jobs. Berserker I would have totally Melee-DPS, although to distinguish them a little more, I might opt for "dual-wielding Axes" in lieu of the 2hand Sword he seemed to have (although it was pretty unique, so maybe it's a different sub-weapon of sword?).
