    Yeah, I'm ok with how WoW does its quests only because you need multiple characters to enjoy all the various classes. I don't think I'll enjoy paying for MSQ skip for 6 characters in FFXIV (as I only level 7 jobs currently). Still, I do wish I can focus on one character regardless.

    I'm probably on a different spectrum of wanting them to delay it more, I never feel like I have enough time to do everything I want to do even with an ungodly amount of hours to sink in.

    In addition to;
    1) God bless Yoshi P's team, they definitely deserve those breaks and have been continuing to put out quality content at a more than reasonable pace especially in Today's circumstance.

    2) We'll receive a better quality patch and improves morale of their team to know that they not only have the time to go at a comfortable pace, anyone who's ever been in any production/customer service field knows how great it feels for when something is positively received by your customers allowing their work to feel more meaningful thus working harder.

But that could have its own downside with people feeling forced to do content they don't want to do.

    Also, if a delay doesn't "cripple" a patch's content, that tells me the grind in that patch is too much, and I personally do not like that.
    While I don't disagree the new zone is likely a contributing factor. They either need to swap it and something else around or make the first step take place elsewhere. Why did Blue Mage take precedence over Bozja? Frankly, I think the bigger issue is how much time they've spent on "Roleplay" elements this expansion. Perform, Gpose, Ocean Fishing and so forth all saw significant development focus. I don't want to say novelty content like that doesn't have its place, however it really shouldn't take focus over the game's only source of battle content longevity. Why? Because Bozja has staying power whereas saying, Ocean Fishing doesn't. Sure, some people may only want a single weapon but I'd wager most aim to complete several. With Ocean Fishing, it's literally done the moment you get the mount and minion. Grind orienting content should always be released early because, well, grinds take time. It's ridiculous we're now waiting a full year for the relic.

    It only "cripples" the patch's content because said patches can't sustain themselves already. Look at 5.1. What did it have that could reasonably last through a near four month cycle. If you didn't like Blue Mage (which took an additional six weeks), you had very little to do that wasn't Savage or Ultimate. Even Savage is technically "old" by that point. A patch should start to feel likes it's losing steam around the third month since a new patch is on the horizon. Unfortunately, that happens significantly earlier.

    Yep, exactly.

    There's plenty to do in game. Just sounds like most people can't do it.

    If you have finished every ultimate, have every mount, minion and basically every achievement done in game well I guess your done. Otherwise most players still have years of work ahead.

    Mounts, minions and achievements can hardly be called content.

    But yeah, let's just say the game has no content and that F2P are so good compare to XIV

    Glad people are getting breaks, hopefully they try hard to avoid insane hours. We've all heard the tales of the 80+ hour work weeks, some life outside of work is helpful- even if you enjoy your work immensely.

    On a related note to the patch, I'm very interested to see how Bozja will go. What they've determined are lessons to improve on vs those not, looking forward to see how it materializes.

    The part in bold would actually make it reasonable for Bozja to be delayed. Just as there are people still doing Eureka now, there will be people still doing Bozja next expansion. If ocean fishing doesn't have as much staying power, then it should be released earlier so it could be experienced for a longer time throughout the current expansion.

    At the same time, it also depends on how many steps they plan. If they only have 4 steps and they release it in 5.0, they'd be done in 5.3 unless they skip a patch. If they want to finish the expansion with the relic in 5.5, then they will have to count backward to start at the appropriate patch.

    I guess it depends on the individual. For me, the alliance raid was the highlight each week during 5.1 (and now during 5.3 until perhaps 5.35 if Bozja is fun) while roulettes is my go to each day. Doing dungeon/trial/raid each day with different groups everyday (depending on my IRL schedule) in the duty finder is what I find fun. But I also play other games (well, mostly WoW) or do other things, so FFXIV doesn't occupy my days/weeks (unless I have FC activities), but I'm active any day I get the chance to play so I don't need to unsubscribe.
