Predictions for job(s) in the next expansion?

5.3 did leave somethings open but all it can be are just false alarm.

Though if I must the concepts presented in 5.3 being that that Alisaie and Alphinaud comment at the end of 5.3 about their lack of development compared to Y'shtola, Thancred, and Urianger whom have all obtained new jobs being Gunbreaker, Astrologian, and Y'shtola version of Black Mage which has her Leyline inscribed on the bottom of her shoe.

It could be nothing more than a desire to get new character gear and stay the same Job as they are but if it is actual hint to these two becoming the upcoming new Jobs then we can assume the two new Jobs are Disciple of Magic Jobs.

Then we have to consider their personality and combat style.

Alisaie has stated herself she has always been the person who prefers charging right into the fray of combat and specialized more in close range combat type magics before she learned to be a Red Mage from X'rhun Tia compared to her brother who is more about keeping a distance and supporting his allies though offensive and healing magic.

If the new Job Alisaie becomes focus more on this behavior then we can assume it is most likely melee Magic orianted or another range Magic type which would fit Mystic Knight/Spellblade Job as Alisaie does favor the use of the sword as another aspect of her personality.

Well Alisae has literally just become a red mage. While Alph has never been upgraded. I would say if anything he would get a new class. They don’t tend to haphazardly rapid fire the scions through classes.

We also have to remember that it also doesn’t mean rune knight just because she is a red mage. She pulled the rapier out of a book, nobody saw that one coming haha.

Though it is worth noting that 5.3 also teased chemist and had a dungeon that led to people speculating Berserker and Necromancer as well. And that the Eden story had Time mage teased via Gaia. Its possible all of this could be red herrings and the twins will likely have upgraded gear. But its also possible that they will have new jobs, whether it be magic or otherwise.

We also have to consider if Gaia will keep her powers after we kill the “fairy” controlling her, or acting through her rather. I cannot remember if it was mentioned in the story if she had time powers pre-possession.

If she keeps them I would say it would be a contender, but if she loses them because it was just the power of the final boss of Eden I would say less likely.

Are you talking about her placeholder Gladiator skills? Because that wasn’t about her being a melee magic user, it was placeholder animations because they didn’t want to show the red mage animations yet.

Possibly but I think you are reading too much into the introduction of it. She was shown becoming a red mage. Not red mage and some secret Sharlayan rune fencer.

I personally still think Gostetsu is coming back and as a Geomancer.

He’s currently not a Samurai anymore, but a wandering “monk” on a pilgrimage of prayer for the fallen. Not the punchy kind of monk but the spiritual kind.

The lore book for Stormblood has lore tidbits for the different weapons throughout the expansion, and every Doman inspired caster weapon (especially the black mage staves) were used by “monks” in Geomantic rituals.

I think with the exploration of more of Othard in the way of Dalmasca and Nagxia will reintroduce us to our long lost Dad.

With his close ties to Geomancers due to being a Samurai under the royal family and therefore the mainland version of the class opposed to Kyokohu’s Hingashi version, would be a fun take/route.

With the Garleans out of Doma and Swallow’s Compass unsealed, as well as the side quests stating that there are groups of mainland Geomancers around, I would love to see what the actual state of the temple is by current standards.

I am honestly still very curious what the 14th Soul Crystal may lead into because if it turns into a new Job that is about using the powers of the 14th before the sundering then there are many possibilities they have.

As of now we only know why the 14th was given the symbol of the Sun being his/her trait always acting as the Sun that guides others out of dark times. Personality wise is unknown since we know the shards of the 14th and our character only carry the trait to adventurer and help others that the original soul had but personality and interests are all different.

I don’t think the convocation all had their own special jobs did they?
