Plus, to add to what Jojoya said, the myriad of different tokens we possess (poetics, tribe tokens, etc) are also mitigating gil sink effects. If those things didn't exist and we had to pay out of our own pockets on a regular basis, some of us (well, me definitely lol) would be flat broke constantly.

If I can craft it myself i'll usually do so. However, sometimes I get tired of gathering and would rather spend my time just crafting so I'll buy materials from the MB. Oh and mounts, orchestration rolls, minions, and a fair bit of materia for melding as I never manage to save as much as I need.

Food and pots. If I were the type to actually build my gil up, then I'd blow it on pots for just general dungeon use too heh. Gotta go fast!

"I thought that my invincible power would hold the world captive, leaving me in a freedom undisturbed. Thus night and day I worked at the chain with huge fires and cruel hard strokes. When at last the work was done and the links were complete and unbreakable, I found that it held me in its grip." - Rabindranath Tagore

For some things yes, for most things, no. Assuming some fundamental nerf to how the item is acquired doesn't tank the price, anything of the above mentioned that sells really high, stays really high forever. The price drops a little bit from day/week one prices, but you're still going to be spending 500k-20million on these things no matter how long you wait. If you're expecting things like the Copycat Bulb or Incitatus mount to sell for 100k or less, you're going to be waiting a very long time.

And due to cross server capabilities becoming well-used, most servers have equalized and you are not going to find significantly different prices on average for things. You get your outliers from random people deciding to sell at a huge price drop one time, and it's great when you can catch these bargains before they're snatched up, but the average going rate tends to be mostly the same across servers.

Housing items aren’t cheap, Glam ain’t easy if your poor. Simply doing the ARR relic is pricey. I Relocate from time to time especially if I see a bot spamming the placecard. Leveling crafters has you pay millions on mats

I am now going to turn the basement of my house into Scrooge McDuck's money bin just so I can do this.
