What are some things from other MMOs or games in general that you wish were in FFXIV?

WoW's Glamour (transmog) system. You can use any gear that's been bound to you, and you can view it in game, and even build up a whole set in the animated left window and save it for later use.


There is no limited dresser storage because all the gear images are in the client anyway, so all it does is let you use the ones you're allowed to use. One downside is that you need a special transmog NPC to change appearance or switch to a new set, which costs a certain amount of gold per item, which can be expensive (Around 600 for a full set change). If you like to change outfits many times a day, then this is not the system for you. However, it makes it much easier to build a set, since you can see everything up front.

Real time dynamic quest updates. FFXIV is the only game where you need to click some purple cloud to activate the quest enemy etc... Ridiculous and clunky

Whatever you want them for? I love how FF14 lets you do "everything" on a single character but it would be nice if you didn't feel essentially actively punished for wanting to have an alt or two.
I mean, some people want to play through various parts of the game again or like to have each character with their own identity rather than Fantasia'ing their main into a new character every time they want to look different. Some people just like to make alts for RP purposes. It would be great if the game was set up in a such a way where things like glamour, inventory, the Armoury bonus, etc. were shared. across account.

-Instant abilities actually being instant, no more clipping or having to use your tank cd before the cast bar reaches 60%.

The other day I wanted to send a FC member furniture for his room, but we're not friends and he was not online. We have the FC chest, why not a special FC inbox? This would be super handy because not all FC's use the chest for the same purposes.

This game has alot of good things but it could do alot of things better. What do you think would be good features or systems from other games that FFXIV could implement to make it more interesting? I made a similar thread on reddit and a commonly asked for feature was an upgrade to the glamour system and a Mythic + equivalent. Mine would be a better transmog system aswell. what are your thoughts? Would appreciate responses.

What currently up and active games have unlimited plots?

Rift, ESO, Aion (i believe), PSO2, I believe LotRO to an extent, but they've got a hybrid system that's like XIV's with a certain number of varying quality plots in a neighborhood, but when the neighborhoods are filled a new one opens, which causes a limit to the amount of GOOD good plots, but still it generates more room for an expanding active playerbase. And I'm gonna count wildstar on here 'cause the housing is not the reason it went under (and in fact was probably the reason why it lasted as long as it did. damn that game's housing community was nuts)

Aion's plots are not unlimited. You get a free instanced apartment, yes. But it's got 20 slots total and I don't think there's a way for anyone to see it unless you add them. Their actual housing requires real kinah rent and plots are limited. But the neighborhoods are superior to XIV simply because they're all different in their own way with houses available even in on field locations. I do wonder what happened to the players' homes that lived in the worlds that got deleted though...

This isn't going to happen, but a more open world like in WoW.

I'd also like more Raids but in 8 man with trash and bigger scale.
The 8 man Raids just feel a bit lackluster in scale imo, I like the boss fights and they're memorable but it doesn't feel like they're a part of the world to me like in WoW.
I also feel like it just ends too quickly for the week lockout, trash sorta makes it feel more varied.

Alliance Raids feels too chaotic to me I think that 8-10 players feels better.

Edit: Also harder versions of dungeons or something.
Maybe scale our characters but still let us keep our abilities or something in lower level dungeons too, it just feels very awkward and clunky sometimes when you're not sure which abilities you have and which you don't.
Some Jobs work better than others when they scale down but it's still annoying imo.
