Lakeland has a similar character in one of the secondary quest there, I even think she is the one mentioned in that dialogue. I also think her whole approach is to help others without fighting."Ink mages" just seem to be arcanists.
The apothecary stuff seemed to have a lot of time and conversation dedicated to it if it's not meant to be a tease. It could just be intended as part of the "look at how you can help people without running off to be a hero" theme to the interactions with the kids, but the specific mention of travelling and healing people seemed like it might be intended as a setup.
I think y'all are digging too deep into something that isn't there. What Riki wants to do is already covered by existing jobs, and bosses are just that; bosses. Outliers.
The Chinese publisher handles localization changes like that; it's nothing that prevents SQX from making their game as they intended for the regions they're in control of.
Necromancers doesn't have to be evil. In guild wars necromancers are essentially guides for the dead with knowledge of curses and diseases, so to say a necromancer in FFXIV could be something similar to conjurer and them asking the elements for power where the necromancer could be communing with the dead for assistance.Necromancer will never happen due to the job never being able to be released in china as they have laws about disrespecting the dead or something like that.
Even the skeleton monsters have new models just for them I heard.
Also...necromancer just doesn't seem like a hero would do so it wouldn't fit with lore honestly. We couldn't be a thief for that very reason and being a necromancer would be WAY worst than that.
But about the miqo'te girl, yeah that seems like it was hinting hard on a new healer using potions to heal.

A Chemist as a healer would be more than reasonable... I say it could be tied up to that since Garleans couldn't use magic they would've had to rely on something like Chemists for healing.
Whenever they feel like doing an expansion that goes into Garlemald that is. Which was kind of looking like something that might be coming at some point even before Shadowbringers...
It's about showing bones and the like.Necromancers doesn't have to be evil. Yeah, exactly. Necromancy isn't anything new in this game, but the only times it has really been shown the "resurrected" have either been zombies (mindless or otherwise) or very twisted monsters. Either way, no bones. Just...pale faces or straight up ugliness. Necromancer could be done in this game, in theory, even with certain restrictions in some countries, maybe through the summoning of the souls of defeated monsters or something?

^that and lets not forget, in the fight where you fought her, one of her dialogue is "i may be tainted but iam still a warrior of light" hinting that she is a dark user but still true to light side (maybe on the moral or attitude side)
i doubt berserker will be the new class considering we already have a class that use axe (WAR) and "role" play somewhat like berserker in a way? looking at the class rooster we know each class has their own weapon and no class wield same weapon.
necromancer have higher chance to be new class, every mmorpg game always has magic class that use dark arts and necromancer might be the thing SE has eye on for next new class (Edda as necromancer job class npc? oh yes!)
as for the Apothecary, if it ever be the new class i hope they change the name to chemist or something like that, Apothecary sound a bit hard for someone who english is not their main lol
one thing iam pretty sure is we definitely have 2 new class because alpinaud and alisae is still on their "base" form while other is back on their "SHB" form after the event, the hint is pretty much there i say. and knowing alpinaud is a healer, the new chemist class for him is probably not far off.
not sure about alisae being necromancer but late story in SHB has her dealing with lfie and death quite a lot so who knows?
I prefer Apothecary. It fits the older-style language and setting that the game prefers, and sounds less similar to the existing Alchemist class.
The only problem I could see is the potential confusion because to most people those would sound like the same exact thing. They would probably have to get a bit more creative with a job name, I just don't know what they'd go with.
Well, the whole Warrior of Light and Warrior of Darkness business... It's generally always been about balance... Too much darkness in the world? You get Warriors of Light. And if there's too much Light? You get Warriors of Darkness.
Mostly to prevent situations like what was in the First at the start of the expansion, and lore states that one of the many worlds out there, the 13th to be exact, had even worse with Darkness and now is where the Voidsent enemies originate from.
