Beastmaster makes sense as a limited job. It was a solo class in FF XI, and I think it could function the same way here. I just hope they actually allow it to be a solo class and maybe even a little OP to justify its limited status unlike BLU.

I personally liked Beastmaster as a class in FFXI, but it's unlikely that there's any place for it with how FFXIV is designed, and limited jobs are just that. Limited. I didn't even bother with Blue Mage because what can I even do with it besides one duty or play with premade groups in low level content.

It was literally a minor joke about how frequently people use ARC instead of ACN when talking about Arcanist rather than Archer even 7 years after its release and implying that BST and BSM will likely be the same. I mean I even added a winky face on it to help make it clear that it was a joke.

I responded to your short "ok boomer"-esque phrase with a "ok boomer"-esque phrase of my own. Was I supposed to respond with a well thought out essay? My bad. I wasn't up on that social convention.

As an aside, what you said had nothing to do with the topic either. You even specified it was an aside so I'm not sure why you are getting up on some high horse about that specific thing. I’ll take a no thank you on limited ever again. Blue Mage needs to join the rest of the adult jobs, and so should BST.

At this point I consider “limited” an extended beta test. I played Blue Mage, and I like it, but I don’t think it should be limited. Limited was supposed to be solo content, and ironically it can not max out without a party involved. Doing all BLU parties for a morbol Mount is like a joke to me. Learning spells should be a natural progression of just going through your duties.

The only thing I’d happily see limited for is Onion Knight as a sandbox job with an exploratory content specifically made for it. Don’t do it to BST- find a better way.

A BST Limited job would definitely make more sense. Much like BLU there is some emphasis on collecting, and it would give them some freedom to make a more traditional pet class and maybe use this knowledge to improve ACN and the associated jobs.

I'd think it might work like this:

• Weapon: Bow. Because I would rather not wast unique weapons on Limited Jobs unless they change BLU's to not be Canes. Also becuase we could kill 2 birds with a single stone and have something closer to an archer class than BRD. The bows would be smaller than BRD's fare and more specialized to tranquilizing monsters or shooting nets to capture them.
• While the monsters would have a horizontal structure, half the skillset would be more linear, focusing on hunting, subduing and capturing monsters. They will also not share skills with BRD beside role actions.
• The associated content would be something akin to FFX's Monster Arena, you capture monsters to bring to a place in say, the Azim Steppe or Lakeland (depending on what the Limited Job cap will be by its introduction) to fight them. The more yu fight them, the more you get to fight and tame crossbred monsters, and get some rewards such as unqiue glamour items, gil, Poetics, ventures and new minions, mounts and crafting mats. Also as a way to get certain beasts early and get beasts with a level beyond the cap at all. The Arena will also have some trial fights to those ends unlocked via the Job quests and showing them certain mounts or minions (The Courel Mount, Clionid Larva and Fenrir), certain Eureka items or new items that drops from Elite Hunt Marks or exchanged with Logs
• BST can also take part in the Masked Carnivale, but only on special multiplayer stages,likewise any Job can take part in the Monster arena, but they will not have the opportunity to tame the monster outside of BST and will be capped to the current Limited Job Level cap
• As for fighting With the monsters. once you captured a monster you can have it fight along side you temporarily, bringing it to the Arena would ensure that it is permanently added to your roster and summoned by using a skill. the monsters would have 5 actions of their own and would use them all in a pattern, but could be ordered to use a specific action, making it closer to BLU in that its a way to use enemy specific skills. Chocobo are also out.
• The range of available monsters would be limited comapred to BLU pulling skills from everything. Human opponents, similarly sapient beings like Beastmen (also including Dragons and Amaro), Primals (we ain't taking SMN here :P) and Ascians are out.
