I met a paladin in capewest wind yesterday who had level 15 weapon and was missing some pieces and he also wanted to mt which did not work very well, boss cleaves still hurt non tanks especially if you are not max item level.Met another GNB in Ravana that just slapped on whatever they had for gear and thought it was good enough. It resulted in them having the starting GNB gear, no belt, and level ~38 DEX accessories. I know they had at least one level 80 job. Not sure what the issue was. They also said nothing when it was pointed out.
Yesterday on roulette as a SAM I got a WHM who had 1.6k hp, was wearing lvl 28-31 white gear, and was oftentimes out of mp from healing our non-cd DRK in Stone Vigil. This resulted in several wipes on trash.
Last boss the Frost Breath insta-KO'ed them. It was actually quite hilarious and painful to watch.
This one is beyond your help. Only sleep can save her now.
No, it's 10k for completion plus 50k for 80 points. Getting more than 80 points gives nothing extra. The only thing you need 100 points for is the achievement, which ofc is only once.Isn't it more than 60k? I haven't done it in quite a while, but I could have sworn you can get 90k for a score of 90+....and the FFXIV reddit has posts every Friday with the complete breakdown of what gets you 80-100 points, including dyes and where to buy the items/if it's crafted/dungeon.
To add to this, however, any MGP bonus buffs you have—FC actions, Grand Company scrolls, whatever—do still apply, and with 60k MGP in a go, that bonus can be substantial.
I aim to make my posts engaging and entertaining, even when you might not agree with me. And failing that, I'll just be very, VERY wordy.Originally Posted by Packetdancer

Yikes.
I know some things in the game aren't readily apparent, but if you know even a single thing about video games, especially RPGs, you would know that gear upgrades are important. How does that happen.
Actually, that's a good question. By being a Paladin, they'd at minimum have a level 30 weapon...
Maybe it's been a long time since I did the level 30 PLD quest, but I don't think you get a free weapon for it. And since it starts from GLA it's very possible to have a sub-30 weapon. It's not like DRK or GNB where it starts at a higher level and you get a weapon for level 30 or 60 respectively.
The level 25 GLA quest gives you an i24 weapon. They *have* to have gotten a better one. I just did it on an alt.Maybe it's been a long time since I did the level 30 PLD quest, but I don't think you get a free weapon for it. The level 30 gladiator quest gives you an ilevel 28 weapon/shield too and that quest is required to unlock Paladin.
