Big Jikes reading this, first of why are players so verbal on shutting this request down? What do you lose if its yet another box you can check in the options, chances are you will never notice it anyway.

The EXP a Sidequest gives is less then favorable to the point their never mentioned when players ask how to level fast, most of the time if you decide to do Sidequests for just exp you will just slow yourself down.
Items, sure theres a few but in almost 90% of Sidequests your only reward is gil and honestly chances are you already have gear thats better already.
Lore, this one is sort of valid and hard to disprove but a lot of quests do come down to, ... "i really want those 2 flowers". We all love our Fetch quests.

Also keep in mind, theres a fair bit of players who dont care about story/lore, those players also dont have the drive to go on a Forum.
And to those who say "just do them" you are mad to believe anyone would have the mental power to do that if their new.

To put it in picture, i put the effort into doing 2000 Mentor roulettes, but ill not touch these Sidequests because there is no benefit to me. So lets sum it up, we have a quest that gives you less exp then if you did something else, gives you an item you likely outleveled or none and gives you a bit of lore or none.

The request to stop map cluttering is fine here.

Because then we get more players who dislike sidequests and the like, and then they will ask for more removal of anything which doesn't provide a straight path to the endgame and BiS gear.
I don't want FFXIV to attract that kind of players. Doing so is a sure way of ruining the good parts of the game in the long view.
