Most times yeah, it's a team effort, but when a tank/healer goofs up? Whew, you get stuff like this.

It's rare, but sometimes you can blame a single player.

Story behind this: Healer just couldn't dodge the attacks on the last boss. Surprisingly no one raged, no one got snarky.
The tank and other DPS left but I stuck with the healer, tried to give them tips and encouragement, and eventually they managed to get the fight down thanks to a tank that joined who had the fight and patterns memorized enough for the healer to follow them.

I hope that healer is well wherever they're at now, cause even though they made the run longer than it should have been, they had my respect for how hard they tried to balance healing, dps and dodging. Though I'm glad they decided to take advice and just buckle down and focus on dodging and healing.

Again, just kick them.. If it's taking that long to complete a dungeon and you want to solely blame the healer, it would literally be faster to wait on a replacement, or just leave and requeue with or without penalty. I admit I have stayed in some long dungeons out of morbid curiosity but nothing nearing that. Ridiculous.

Even if it's some new "learning" player, nobody in their right mind should waste an hour in a dungeon because of them. There is a certain amount of patience you should have, but somebody who can't grasp playing the game even at a basic level is nothing but a hindrance, they won't learn, and it is definitely not worth wasting the effort trying to help or "teach" them anything. Like I said, they can't grasp how to play the game. They should have some consideration for the other people in their group.

More patience then I, I would have kicked them and just got a new healer.

Yes, kicking was an option I considered, but at the same time I'm aware that FF appeals to a very broad selection of people, I didn't know if maybe this was a much older or very very young person playing, or potentially someone with some form of disability they didn't want to talk about.

Also further context, a LOT of if not all of the time was dumped into the final boss and waiting for a new DPS and tank, many many wipes were had there.
I'd not have blamed either of you for kicking, but something told me to be a little more patient and understanding with this person in particular, leading up to the last boss wasn't terrible, but for some reason that boss just totally floored them.
Maybe I just went the extra mile for them because the rest of the party did for the most part and I could relate to just simple stuff flooring me and frustrating me to no end sometimes.

So because this person may or may not have some disability mental or otherwise (not like you can ask in game without getting banned) you and the others in your group are forced to waste an hour out of their life for them? Nah, no way. I'll just say it, if they are so bad at the game that they literally cannot play the game at a basic level, ESPECIALLY on a class like a healer then they shouldn't be playing the game., AT THE VERY LEAST they shouldn't be playing a healer Like, I'm sorry, but at that point I don't understand why they would even want to play the game. It's crazy.

I understand if some disability makes playing the game difficult, but they should think about the other players. This is a multiplayer game.

We weren't forced to do anything.

I'm sorry you feel that I was wrong for going above and beyond with my compassion, empathy and understanding. It's totally fair and understandable you wouldn't make the same choice and I wouldn't hold it against you or anyone else not doing the same as me, but it's the choice I made, and I at least stand by sticking around to the end.

And I'm sure the party felt somewhat the same, or else they would have voted to kick instead.

Was it Heretics Fork that the healer couldn't dodge? The one where the spikes form around the room and throw out quad beams in sequence. That one gets a lot of people and I've seen DPS (I always tank or heal it) take those suckers over and over again, building up massive vulnerability stacks and getting Burger King'd by Intestinal Crank. I can understand what the issue there is - if you don't the pattern of Heretics Fork, it's not the same, I mean the first one to go off is different in what seems to be every other time censor is started up. Breaking Well (I call this the Oven attack) is easy enough. Censor(I call this the Microwave attack) is another trippy one for people who don't understand the bright spots are safe spots.

Basically, Storge is a big light show when it's doing its thing and I'm assuming the healer had a vision issue.

You ever meet a prog party while doing normal raids that makes you stop and go 'I will legitimately wait to do the next fight just so I never have to see you people again?' Because after getting this one premade while working through one of the tiers on my alt I can definitely say that I have. So. Many. Raises.
