I did complete the Masked Carnival, which gives you thousands upon thousands of Allied Seals.

I've forgot about that thanks for reminding me. That also gives poetics too

I really think the book phase in particular needs to be made easier, and letting you grab all the books would be a fine way to reduce it.

Even without making much headway in the Masked Carnival, I've hit a point where I've got all the riding maps and still do hunts sometimes, so I've got more allied seals than I'm sure what to do with at the moment. I only found out I could spend them on alexandrite after I'd finished getting it through maps, which takes a lot more running around.

Then again, I suppose I already did the running around by doing the hunts in the first place...

I forget which stage (Light?) I spammed Ifrit. One fight was 30 seconds? I was foaming at the mouth by the time it was done..but I did it.

Imo it's just the fates that make those such a slog. Some spawn rates are incredibly long.

Actually.. Did they increase Fate spawn rates or have I just been extremely lucky? Just did a couple books and I remember some of those fates being notorious for taking a loong time to spawn.

Same. The annoyance isn't worth the amount of gil saved.

It might be useful for a low-level character but by the time you can afford to buy stacks of them (which presumably comes after at least getting every riding map) then you don't actually need them.
