Limit anima to be used exclusively at crystals (which doesn't really limit it much, you're *always* close to a crystal), reduce max anima by half, keep anima regeneration as is, add anima potions on GC, call it a day.

It's basically a more accessible form of Outpost teleports from FFXI. I would like it if they made it where you have to teleport from crystal to destination crystal rather than being able to teleport from wherever you are in the world to whatever crystal you want to go.
I do hope they add some WHM teleports sometime post 2.0 though.

Do we really need to go through this song and dance every time? For the love of Twelve, elementals, and mother's homemade baked apple pie! Leave anima alone as it is! Don't want to teleport, do not use it! Simple as that people! And if people overuse their anima so they cannot use it when needed then guess what, it's their own damned problem. Anima is given to us for a reason, to ease up travel when you have a short time to play, it's not meant for traveling from city-to-city repeatedly because you can't spare the 5,000G at Lv50 to take an airship, which is instant travel anyway as it stands. I swear sometimes I think people would be happier if we had to walk, not run, but walk to every spot without airships, chocobos, or even teleportation.
"Party at Coerthas? Sure, just let me walk from La Noscea back to Limsa Lominsa, take a ferry, walk all the way across Thanalan, north through the Black Shroud, into Coerthas and to our party location! I should be there in 40 minutes, okay?"
Oh and while we're at it, can we take out the ability to set your home point? Instead when you die, you have to get a raise. Since teleporting doesn't exist returning to your home point of origin doesn't exist either. Yes I know this is all extreme but eventually this will be like a morrowind game without the option of instant travel. I believe many tend to forget FFXIV was based around being able to quickly log in and achieve some progress even if you can only play for 30 minutes. If I can only play for a short period of time I know I won't want to spend it traveling from one location to another if I can just teleport there real quick, do what I wanted to do in the first place, and then log back out.
Anima is great. There is no need to increase travel time.
Having said that, I would prefer that you need to make an initial trek to a crystal before you can teleport there. (That is, you can't be teleported somewhere unless you have touched the crystal, like in FF11)

Perhaps extreme examples, but very well put!Do we really need to go through this song and dance every time? For the love of Twelve, elementals, and mother's homemade baked apple pie! By the way, I love your blog. ^^

Well looking at the grid of the new maps, it looks like the amount of gates has dramatically lowered, it looks like one per area, making it three per region (Only looking at the maps, can't say for sure.). If this is the case, while I can't say if Anima is staying or going, but I am very sure it is going to get some form of adjustment when 2.0 arrives.
My opinion on Anima, I can't really say until I see how the new maps are. Currently, I try to not use it as much as possible, only use it when I want to get to Turning Leaf or if an event is starting and I need to get there quick. If I am on my own time or farming, I will take the extra 5-10 minutes to travel there. So I wouldn't be sad if Anima left, but I am fine with it either way.

Yah I agree I think anima Idea sucks I'd prefer to have a whm teleport the group around.

either get rid of anima or have it create a negative status effect if used too frequently. Give me a reason to not use it and take the airship or chocobo.

I just have one question for you guys that want to abolish anima and make it into a whm teleport spell... Why do you want to turn this game into an FFXI clone? This isn't 11 this is FFXIV A whole different game with a different story line and different ways to play. Are you all that afraid of change and to do something differently?
