    All in all I've had lots of fun healing in ShB, I certainly agree the classes could do with a little more distinction, perhaps take a page out of WoW's book where the different healers have more varied means of healing beyond just focuing on Shield and regens, but overall I am satisfied.
    I mean, it's fine to like the changes, I feel healing is now less difficult to grasp now that the skills have been simplified/homogenised.
    I liked that the cards before were more diverse, and I miss my expanded arrow + time dilation, 60 secs of reduced cast and recast time.
    My honest feeling is that people obsessed with the Balance so much they felt it was the only card they should draw. Which is what we got now, but with even more RNG.

    Overall the healers are urgh to meh to me.

    The meh whm: lillies are way improved yay, more skills stripped and repackaged later with few improvements, boo, blood lily, yay, repose made role action and fluid aura left as is, boo, this goes on for whm hence the meh.

    The why sch: made a worse pet response system than SB, strip away selene to be a glorified glam, took energy drain to give it back showing lack of foresight by the developer of healers, removing interactions with the fairy (manual embrace etc).

    The urgh Ast: this is biased due to my 4 years of completely loving the job being completely whacked by a sledgehammer, that said, the removal of Royal Road/Time Dialiation/SB Celestial Opposition took out an entire playstyle of buff manipulation from Ast it was unique to Ast and would still be unique to Ast if they kept them, Ast has been made more a whm clone than it has ever been before this hurts both jobs as neither gets to standout as much as they used to, the card system needs massive QoL as all that is holding it together is paper thin glue would not be surprised if divination is made a cd and all cards become Lord/Lady, the current card system just sucks for solo play half your deck is rendered more useless than 1/6 like the old, Horoscope needs QoL with a self detonate if procced clause for Mr Timbuktu or Miss Lalaland, and Noct Sect needs love but after 4-5 years I have no hope at all. Then there are the contoller issues for optimal play yea never letting that go it needs to be fixed this expansion SE not twiddle thumbs bidding time for 6.0.

    All healers: the monotonous 1 Dot, 1 nuke spam given by lv8 is an abysmal experience for a reward of healing well. Downtime needs serious work, we have an overabundance of it because you keep increasing our healing tools while not changing encounter design.


    The healers are the most balanced they have ever been but to me they are the worst versions of each healer we have had baring whm's lillies.

    I think the issue ultimately is we don't really have a cohesive idea of what they should be. Personally I'm enjoying being a White Mage myself. Only real issue is that I find the Lily system kind of clunky. I'd rather have like, healing spells increase blood lily (and you get multiple) and damage spells increase regular lilies (or vice verse), as opposed to spend lilies to get blood lily.

    WHM is fine for the most part. But that's due in part to the developers hacking both SCH and AST off at the knees to bring them down to WHM's level rather than boosting WHM up to theirs. So while WHM feels good to play right now, that's really only in part due to how bad it was previously. Where ANY improvement is still leagues better than what we once had even though there could have been room for more. However I can't really complain either way because I'm glad at least one of the healing classes feels somewhat satisfying to play right now.

    I really can't say the same for either AST or SCH. AST started this expansion barely being able to heal dungeons and while it's since gotten the needed potency buffs it just does NOT feel good to play in my opinion. SCH on the other hand is currently suffering not just from some potency issues but also a loss of identity. The simplification of the faerie system really did nothing to improve response times for faerie casts, not to mention sometimes spells just flat out get eaten if you're using Seraph, which still hasn't been fixed in the last year, and while it's nice to not have to babysit your faerie's HP anymore the job feels gutted as a result. They're serviceable. That's it. They exist. They do their jobs to some passing extent, but because we had access to BETTER versions of both classes in the past they just feel hollow in their current incarnations.

    What makes me sad is that I don't think we're ever going to get that complexity back. SE can say they're balancing healers all they want, but they've shown time and time again that they really don't know what they're doing.

    I don't play sch, I get it lvld to max when I lvl smn so I can't comment on it but I'm happy with whm I can't think of anything I'd like to see added to it.

    Astro is my favorite healer but I wish we could get back a 2nd mp gainer like we had in hw and sb with the mp card, even if it's not a card effect but a move like that whm mp gainer move, I'd like to have a 2nd mp gainer back for Astro but I still enjoy shb Astro as it's been my healer of choice since hw.

    And if we get a healer in 6.0 I want it to be a chemist or battle medic cause I want something different then a magical based healer, we already got 3 magic based healers so it's time for something different.

    Healers are tied to DoM and casting stuff in general. Two of the healer role actions only work off of casting spells after all, and while Surecast isn't a big deal Swiftcast is noteworthy. We could still get Chemist, but Chemist has been magical in nature in the past so it wouldn't be that tricky.

    WhM's healing toolkit was greatly improved, which doesn't really matter when there's barely enough damage to keep you occupied healing for 10-20% of the fight and you only have 2 buttons for the other 80%.

    I main DNC right now but I usually end up playing healer (usually WHM or AST) for insta-queuing and the occasional Adventurer in Need bonus (although, I just got PLD to 80, so this might change...).
    I think the healers are playable but, for me, they lack any fun or interesting gameplay mechanics like DPS jobs (and Tanks' to a lesser extent).
    If things are going well, I just focus on my meagure DPS rotation (and cards, for AST).
    If things aren't going well, I feel like I'm babysitting with my click-and-done heals.
