If I remember right, then a Aoe LB on 3 enemy's is always stronger then a melee LB.
Bossfights don't have to many adds around and addphases are often easier then the actual boss, so you can take your time these add phases.

In roulette content, you may not even have a melee job, so a ranged/caster using it is still better than not using it at all.
I will admit I have had times when I'm the OT, and I completely miss that the MT died because of something out of game. I tend to react quickly once I do notice it, but it's usually not more than 1 or 2 auto attacks(if a TB hits at one of those attacks, then my bad...but most DPS will survive a few auto attacks). You know what is more annoying than a missing Esuna (or overuse) problem?
Off-tanks who don't want to tank. Three times now I have met face-to-face with a tank buster because the MT died and the OT stood off into la-la land smacking away with their weapon.
It's not even sudden either! There is plenty of time for the boss to turn around, stare at my frail body, smack me around a couple of times, and then decide it's time to delete my existence.
Please...for the love of all that is good...learn what PROVOKE IS!!!
Ok, I'm good now.
My eyes are usually on the party hp as a tank since i usually play a tank with utility uses, so the instant i see the MT hp bar tank im on it pretty much instantly.I will admit I have had times when I'm the OT, and I completely miss that the MT died because of something out of game. I have off days it takes me about 2 and a half seconds though.
I've noticed there is a rather common issue with some people in duty finder not having their party chat open so I'm unable to offer them advice on how avoid wipes.
Got stuck on the first boss of Saatsha hard because the healer would not cleanse the slime DoT, meaning people kept getting one-shot by tail screw. Wasn't responding to auto-translate either, so I know it wasn't a language barrier thing.
Have also had tanks in extremes that would just keep chain pulling the boss without allowing anyone to explain anything on multiple occasions.
Some add phases like Titania's are rough enough that it is probably worth nuking them to get them over with quicker. The vast majority of wipes on normal mode happen there as the entire party is constantly getting smacked with unavoidable damage whilst also having to avoid other AoEs.
Just left a dungeon after the tank and a dps started ERPing in the spawn instead of doing the dungeon. Unbelievable. No way was I gonna sit through a dungeon with those two..

Ugh. I've had this happen too. Was with two miqo'tes a long way back (I was also a miqo'te). They had the same last name and everything.
Lets just say the conversation got....not so family friendly and made my early tanking experience an absolute nightmare.
Just...just keep it in your tells. Nobody needs to know your fictional business.
I'm usually looking at the boss HP bar and able to see the targets name there, but when something makes me turn almost completely around(something/someone falling, or needing me to look at something for them quickly to give them my opinion, even for a second) if something happens in that moment like the MT not using ANY cooldowns for a TB, it could happen where a DPS ends up at top of the list for a few moments.
