I just assumed it was because (thanks to the writers' own priorities) Lyse just happened to not be near us when any of his attempts were made, since she was off in Ala Mhigo somewhere.




Not physical closeness, but closeness of the threads of fate we share at a given moment. Lyse's fate was bound more tightly with Ala Mhigan activities than it was with Scion activities. But to be fair, this is the Exarch's excuse, not mine, lol.
