Do you want Garo gears/mounts to appear in the game again ?

A) Wasn't the FFXIII-event two or three times running before stuff appeared at Mogstation? (Hadn't played 2.x at that time, so can only guess from what I heard.)
B) And hasn't Yokai been announced to have a third run this year - including the so far missing job-weapons?

There was an FFXIII (13) event? I wasn't around for it, so I actually cannot answer this. And I sure haven't seen or read any announcement from YoshiP about a 3rd run.
And for as long as I been playing: since middle Heavensward, Ive never seen another XIII event.
The only even I saw (or I remember) being repeated was the Yokai-Watch Event. And still to this day none of those items are up on Mogstore

It never felt like an event though. It wasn't a short-term promotion; there were no quests attached to it. I wouldn't even know it was a crossover if I hadn't been told. They were just there.

Saying it shouldn't come back so they can focus on new events sounds a bit like saying all the Alexandrian gear should be dumped so they can work on something new.

Having it there long-term wasn't taking away from anything else or preventing them from running other "temporary feature" events in the meanwhile. It wasn't taking resources away from anything else.

Obviously it had to go for reasons beyond their control, but they didn't remove it just to keep it exclusive.

SE having to renegotiate would be taking resources away from other potential new events or additional content,so I would rather them focus new things for everyone to enjoy.

Honestly I feel for people who weren’t playing at the time as the gear was in game for what felt like forever. Unfortunately SqE probably understands it would be better served collaborating with in house stuff like Dragonquest, other owned properties or similar properties from friendly companies like capcom.

You have to remember when this took place, SqE was doing a bunch of kinda odd collaborations (Lightning selling Vuitton, 15 selling Coleman camping gear, etc). It didn’t really result in a lot of returns for them, whereas collating with other games (monster hunter, nier) has yielded some sales going either way.

My friend (manager at local Vuitton) said it was so niche, most people who shopped there didn’t know or really care who Lightning was.

Also even if squeenix wanted to extend it, the other company almost certainly wouldn't want to pay more to advertise a 2 year old anime

They never should have been taken out of the game, nor should they have been locked behind the horrible PVP in this game.

They did have it through MGP, it wasn't dyeable but you didn't have to do the PvP if you didn't want to just couldn't dye it because it makes sense for the PvP event to have the good dyeable set, should it have gone away? I don't think so I don't see the harm in keeping it in the game.

It was removed purely from a business perspective. Otherwise there was no "harm" in keeping it in the game. The contract period for the crossover no doubt, and squeenix wasn't gonna just leave it in the game for free advertising. That's how businesses do.

If their contract ended (which it did) they most likely couldnt leave it ingame anymore because they dont hold the license on those designs - I doubt that its so much about "free advertising" and more about "we arent legally allowed to have this items available any longer unless we negoiate new terms".

This. Japan has REALLY strict copyright laws and while it would have been free advertising for GARO, the lack of contract would have opened SE up to potentially being sued or fined.

For how long it lasted, I was kind of surprised there was an end date to the Garo event. I guess there was an agreement somewhere that they can only have it for that long.
Meanwhile the Monster Hunter event seems like it'll be there forever. Same in Monster Hunter World's case with the FFXIV-related content it has.

I can't quote where I saw this, so forgive it I'm just imagining things..BUT! I believe I saw somewhere that the way Garo was long term but limited was a bit of a headache later on, so later events were purposely either A) a very limited, short term event run that could be repeated (eg 2-4 weeks of Yokai Watch) or B) permanent additions, never to be removed (eg. Monster Hunter)
