I consider inventory management to be part of a game. I personally feel we have an excessive amount of inventory space currently. I wish they would switch to weight-based systems found in other games.

Your IMG attachment skills need work bro.
Also your willingness to pay for so many accounts and CD keys for those accounts - I don't know whether to be jealous or worried.
But yeah, +1 to allowing us to buy retainers. It would be more money in SE's pocket for people who need it, so I think it would only help SE. Keep it down to 2 retainers can only be used for bazaar/ward selling and we're good.

I would happily buy more retainers, then i could get rid of my mule account.
Basically. I don't get why anti inventory space people care about how everyone else manages their space. More inventory space doesn't negatively affect them in anyway and it makes everyone else's lives easier. So what's the problem?i npc everythings!! look at me i have super inventory management skill!!

So glad you're not making this game. And this sort of nonsense is why people are always complaining about the Ul'dah wards being full.

I can understand, if you have all crafts and battle classes leveled, and you're active with materia/melding, how inventory space becomes an issue, and I fully support the additional retainer proposal. While I do not maintain a full/complete stock of all items for each (crafting) class, I do keep a reasonable supply of materials, such as yarn/cloth, nuggets/ingots, logs/lumber/branches, etc. This is essential to ensuring you can make whatever gear you or your LS mates need. Also, keeping a reasonable supply of materia, catalysts, dye on hand is also essential. Otherwise, you will eventually find yourself having to farm at inconvenient times as needs arise, or paying some ridiculous price in the market wards.
To go along with this, imo, each player has a responsiblity to not just toss raw materials on his/her retainer, but, rather, periodically, spend some time netting down inventory to some reasonable degree. I.E. - 7-8 stacks, each, of raw cobalt, electrum, mythril, etc. ore, you're being just plain lazy, and, of course, inventory will quickly become an issue.
Add to this event items, U/U items that may eventually be meldable, as speculated, there is no way I could effectively play this game if I was again limited to 300 spaces (+bazaar). Right now my retainers are 140/122 and my character @ 125 (with DM, ammo, etc. in bazaar).
One thing SE could do to help with this issue is by automatically making all HQ items +1 in a patch. Currently, considerable space is taken up in my inventory with +1/2/3 items, and I'm not using these atm with what I'm hearing about future HQ synthing. In addition make all dyes NQ. Quick count, this would free up 50 spaces in my inventory.
All dyes should be NQ now you don't need to synth with them anymore, agreed. Though that was just another dumbing-down amendment and naturally they should keep quality differences if they're gonna bring it back.
How about GIVE us more retainers. We shouldn't be paying as it is.
It would be funny if players got fat for using the soon to come Intra-City Teleportation Aethers instead of running...And this sort of nonsense is why people are always complaining about the Ul'dah wards being full.

Oh wait. That's not what you meant by "weight based system"...
Edit: I am one of those players who hoards materials from DoL classes in anticipation of lvling my DoH classes.
For ex; I have 15 stacks of Alumen, 10 stacks of Electrum, 10 stacks of Cobalt, 10 stacks of Mythril (sure i intentionally farmed the cobalt and electrum pre patch) +all the lower lvl ore I haven't crafted yet since most of my DoH are sub 20. The same goes for my Botany and the dozens of stacks of logs and branches clogging up my retainer
Also, I hoard my grade III and IV materias because I want the achievement of attaching them onto my future gear. I easily have 100+ materia on one retainer alone.
BUT, I will side with Meowy Wowie on this topic. First of all because I am from Maui Hawaii and I love her name. Second of all because If you look at the price of Savage Might IV maeria on Lindblum, you will notice the price as of recently is 550K~ per. My first materia from a lvl 40+ gear was a Savage Might IV that I promptly sold for 1.1mil a couple of months ago. That means I can buy two Savage Might IVs today for the price I sold 1 Savage Might IV two months ago.
I know this example doesn't necessarily hold true with all items, much less crafting materials such as electrum and cobalt ore which went up slightly in price after getting nerfed to 1 ore per whack. But the example does hold true for the majority of the materia on my server.
In other words: Sell High, Buy Low - It'll save you inventory space in the short term and increase your profits in the long term.
OvernOut.
