I'm sure we'll have the same events we usually have at this time of year. Make It Rain would already be in the game files since it would have started before they had originally expected to release 5.3.

So far Moogle Treasure Trove seems to start up about 4 weeks before the next major patch release. That would overlap Make It Rain if they don't extend it to be a longer event this time.

If you've run out of things you're interested in doing, go ahead and take a break from the game. It's always good to play other things. You can start your sub back up when you're ready to return.

Good point. I don't know how many steps there are, but some of Japanese servers are in the mid 30s, while everyone else is still in the mid 20s.

There's speculation it might be longer because of the ongoing situation in Tokyo due to COVID, which is currently a hotbed that doesn't seem to be slowing down. That said given the circumstances any length of time the game might be in hiatus is kinda understandable and I hope the dev's are all healthy and well through these trying times.

As for things they can do that require minimal manpower, I second the idea of doing contests or MGP events. It'd require minimal interaction from the dev team and could let them focus on staying well.

If nothing else it is letting me catch up on my gaming backlog and play PSO2 and FF7R. I can't complain too much. lol But yeah, right now the health of everyone is more important than game development. If the next patch or 2 is delayed significantly then it is what it is. There wouldn't be delays if it wasn't necessary. A business doesn't profit off of doing nothing.

They'll have a glitch with a contagious high damage tic DoT appear creating a pandemic in game... oh wait Blizzard already fubared WoW like that years ago.

Maybe they'll add randomly spawning fates to fight giant COVID bombs.

It would be nice for them to at least turn the Itinerant Moogle stuff back on, especially for those of us who missed the earlier prize rotation. No big deal to me if they don't though.

I'm guessing if 5.3 drops, they could put the game on hiatus save for patches and QoL fixes. To be real, we may not even see 6.0 until 2022 at the earliest, so they'd be drip feeding content until that time.
