There appears to be more pictures scattered around twitter too. I'm honestly surprised they didn't warm things up further. I hope by the end they add in more plants to help break up all the stone.
Apparently its not fake and these houses will pop up at a stage 31 of restoration. My server is just at stage 10 xD So yeah, apparently these are what we get. Super ugly tho.
Shiva is on stage 22, not stage 10. Spriggan is the least progressed server, and they're at stage 15.
As for the aesthetic, it does fit in with Ishgard. Players will always have the option of using the other housing themes if they want.

I would reccomend instanced housing, but adding a "on instance 2 btw!" and the pain Squeenix would have to do to make it...
:P

I hope they introduce, more options in outdoor dyes for housing skins, especially for ishgard and goblet, to make their grey and khaki colored environment more alive.https://imgur.com/a/Etqq2qf

Okay, I have to ask. What specifically do you want from a house that you can't get with an apartment?

Well for one houses have more interior space and at least double the amount of item slots. That in itself is enough reason to desire a house over an apartment. Then there is the garden area outside. A nice place to fill with trees/fountains/benches and other assorted items. Sure the functionality is the same, both allow for a place to AFK/craft or invite friends to chill. I personally have a house of my own, a nice medium in Lavender Beds, but that does not mean that I don't want others to be able to enjoy the housing feature to the fullest extent. While it may have its flaws (not being able to move stuff vertically without finicky glitches) the items provided are mostly gorgeous and therefore fun to collect and display!

The reality is this thread and many many others like it have been in the forums since 2014... Rather than demanding SE keep adding wards which isn't the answer, the community should put more focus into improving Apartments. Hence I wanted players who don't own a house tell the devs exactly want they want. It wouldn't be hard to add a space to use outdoor furnishings and increase the space of apartments. I believe they are adding farming areas in the wards that player can purchase a section.Well for one houses have more interior space and at least double the amount of item slots. Weird question what will happen to the restoration efforts once the district is built? would it stop being a thing and forcing players to go elsewhere for their dyes and such?
Also dis a similar initiative for housing happen in Stormblood as well?
