That's just brilliant, I laughed, thank you.

I can't say it's a completely right thing to do, but if somebody was intentionally running ahead of me pulling mobs, I would probably end up doing the same - just allow them to tank. It's quite petty, I suppose, but sometimes it works. Not that it happens with me (at least it's a rare enough thing to ignore it), thankfully.

Just ran and Alliance raid, Crystal Tower of course the easiest one, pretty much going bog standard until we hit the Atmos and Team C somehow only has 6 members, the 2 DPS they have sit on the platform and the tanks/healers are off smacking the Atmos leaving us barren. Of course they whine about someone pulling an early pull and yet they're not on the platform, at all, they're just ignoring everyone else asking for them get with the program, it's bonkers, then to make it even better one of the C team looks up one of the other players asking for them to get on the damn platform to call them out for having a green parse.

As if that's any kind of defense for NOT standing on the platform?

As if that wasn't enough the healers on our team just ignored me, I was dead on the ground for the stupid Bomb room with the spinny gargoyles and they all went off to the Behemoth, where of course they start the fight while I'm returning to start, get pulled into the boss room for a big ol' meteor to the face... and still no rez. I do not get it, it was easily the single worst run of Crystal Tower I've ever done and I've ran that place more than a dozen times in the last two weeks, I can understand C slipping up because not everyone can understand mechanics, but damn no healing is rough.

Almost wiped to Ancient Flare too since a couple people on each team just wanted to go for broke for some reason...

Just had what is probably the smoothest run I've had of Dun Scaith since it was current content. We pop into the raid, someone says they're new and I say I hope the first boss goes well (I think we all know how much of a dumpster fire Deathgaze can be). Queue a super-smooth deathgaze where I think there might have been 5 deaths across the entire alliance. I had to MT the raid because the other tanks either didn't want the job or (in one case) were floor tanks. The hardest part of the raid? Scathach - I'm personally not that great at handling that fight, so I died once....and the other tanks were either tunneling or simply didn't care so she killed a few squishies before I grabbed her again. I also had a couple of derps on the Diabolos portion, but thankfully no deaths, and the entire raid went incredibly fast and smooth otherwise.

Mad props to everyone in the raid for making it go so smoothly.

Dancer is a physical hybrid melee/range class, not a true ranged class. I love it.

Its apparently considerred harassment to 'pull more to the tank' if it was not asked for.

Speaking of tanking yesterday i discovered a dragoon can tank the final boss of Mt Gulg for the better part of half a minute. that's my achievement in the long bucket list of dps achievements I'm finding points i can get to. tank dies i just take a second to realize i have the aggro. so bloodbath and true north and faint and second wind all get to see some use for once in a leveling dungeon. tank may have in the moment forgotten they had provoke but it turned out perfectly fine. we didn't even lose any time on the kill really...that's the real bonus.

I wish they had a custom version of the dungeon bosses in The Smith / Training Center so you could practice somewhere that isn't getting others killed or trying their patience. I know there are places to go train "mechanics" but I mean it would be a lot easier to retain specific boss needs/rotations if you were learning on a version of the actual fight (since learning on the actual fights tends more often than not it seems only winds up in this thread).

I can't think of a single player I've met that I would post here about, and I'm pretty sure I've been "that player" along the way because, well, I'm just not good at multitasking fine dexterity motions while pegging the red line on the operation load meter.

I do my best and I figure it's either good enough or it's not.... it's all I got.

Eden Verse: The Birds. So i am on SMN, there's one particular token i really want, but with rolls of 21, 6 and 95 i had to run it 3 times. Also i died once in those runs each.

First run. Tank has no idea what's going on. Tank dies. Second tank didn't have the stance on. I am on top of aggro list and i am looking at big "tankbusters are random" beam pointing at me. I kinda wanted to "WE GO TOGETHER!" and "DIE! DIE1 DIE!" the whole raid, but thought better of it. People are dropping dead to poor portals positioning, but we cleared.

Second run. Same thing happened again. I check the names, but it's a different tank. So once agian i have aggro and i discovered, that auto-attacks hit a squishy caster for 30k+ a pop and i die once more. Oh joy.

Third run. You know there are double stack markers? Can you guess what happens when you all stack on one person and leave the second person with a stack marker and no people to stack with? They fucking die. Then i rest on the floor for like 30 seconds because Broil Broil Broil Broil Broil. That was the only death in a run. What do you use Swift Cast on?

    Broil, of course.

Had my own encounter with Eden Verse: Flock of Seagulls today... well, yesterday, I suppose. It went pretty much as well as it can, a death or two here, nothing out of the ordinary. Except it was an in-prog, and I was the only tank when I joined in. Apparently the first two tanks were terrible and bailed after a wipe. It was only ten minutes in, but my guess is that the main tank went vapor-brained for Unhallowed Stake—that caught me off guard on one run, at least—and the off tank refused to pick up the slack. But I guess I'll never know, 'cause nobody brought it up again and we cleared without issue. Tempted to try and pug Savage now—I was going to wait until I had my Crystarium weapon, but I missed a week so that's a bust for now.

you remind me of a run of seegull pack i had last week. had two friends and we were doing the weekly run. the white mage we had refused to really help heal too much. im not sure if they were overwhealmed or what. my friend was a scholar. i ran on paladin and the other was a rdm. rdm spent periods doing revives, i kept having to clemency the gunbreaker tank because there was just too much group damage being given out and rdm saved the run twice. also had to use cover at one point because he spent his entire invuln not being healed and it was about to wear off so i ate his damage at one point. sch friend spent most of the run at roughly 30-20% mp so he was taxed.

one of those times rdm died for his focus on pocket rezing. we all must have died some 2 or 3 times but there was no actual wipe. i got a comm for it and i imagine that it was from the gunbreaker tank. I'd wisely decided to offtank heal/ cover because i kept having to help save people. including a poor dps that would have died if i hadn't stacked with them and clemencied them up to 70% health. because they went straight back to 15%.

God that was a day. but hey we managed a first pull clear. I'm proud of how salvaged that run had been.

Edit: and yes it was NORMAL.

Just had the longest Anamaenennenesis (what ever the new dungeon is) run I've had in a long while. Me on WHM and my gf on GNB and we had I guess new dps BRD and DRG. The DRG was... decent just had fresh lvl80 year with mix of neo gear, so not massive dps from them. But the BRD.... oh boy. They only used Quick Nock (AoE skill) the whole dungeon, yes on bosses too. No Burst shot or Straight shot, just Quick nock and thats it... and they kept dying too no matter how much I healed them. And Both having language set in F it was no use to even try to help them out or point out the skill usage so we just suffered it through...
How can you get to 80 and still know so little about your class skills...?

Another week, another e8n run with almost the whole party dying to the Absolute Zero sequence.
What the DPS did: Addle, Tactician, Shield Samba, Curing Waltz, Bloodbath, Second Wind, Manaward.
    What the healers did: ...uuuhhh....
The rest of the fight went well; nobody got stunned from Redress, no vuln stacks from her kicks, add died fast, tethers got always intercepted, Flare markers at the edge etc. but somehow at least half the parties I join die during Absolute Zero.
Well, I have my 7 token to trade in for the tomestone. Enough Shiva for now, at least on normal.
