Good thing none of that was, then. Save your buzzwords for Reddit or something. Don't cherry-pick what I said and then hand wave the rest as 'ad hominem'. It's not a personal attack just because you don't agree with it. It's also insulting that you think my statement was anything close to immature. I say those things from years of experience as an adult while paying for and playing these types of games.
Adding more actual game features that aren't cosmetic or equally obtainable in-game for free (i.e. level boosts and story skips) is just how games end up having most of the actual game require more purchases, because players feel like they have no choice and must make those purchases in order to fully experience and enjoy the game. Is that sufficient enough for you or should I praise you as well to prevent being accused of ad hominem again?
I feel like even if there was in-game housing with IRL rent, there would still be a shortage... >w>
Lol I hope the next Ishgard Restoration Works will have us build guillotines for these upper class Elezen players (just kidding). Even if OP had good intentions, to instantly propose $10 a month for a virtual house in a SUBSCRIPTION MMO shows how out of touch they are with the majority of the player base. When most people are struggling to make ends meet IRL to keep their REAL house it’s a bit ridiculous to wonder why there’s frustration aimed at you for basically begging SE for charge extortionate rates on top of their existing sub for in-game content. I’m sure SE has MORE than enough in their profit margins to upgrade housing without charging us even more, but they won’t give us that when there’s people practically throwing money at them without any care in the world since they don’t wanna be like the rest of the poor people.
Exactly. All of this.Lol I hope the next Ishgard Restoration Works will have us build guillotines for these upper class Elezen players (just kidding). $10/mo and your house still gets demolished? I have no words. I just can't.
If the space was limited, like in normal wards, this would not help or fix housing shortage at all. True, I'd love my housing to be tied to my subscription (paying sub = keeps auto-demo off) but that'd be but most minor quality of life improvement.
More whining and wailing would follow, like with normal wards. Eventually Premium warders would begin wondering. "Why again I am paying real money for what thousands or normal M/L house owners enjoy free??" Then even they would begin complaining.
Business as usual.
I'd be very against more premium content in this game when we already have a cash shop with about 1000 items and pay premium for inventory space and alts, which are default in other games. Accepting premium wards means they no longer have to make "free" ones.
FF14 is not short of revenue either, the game is plenty profitable. They're simply funneling the funds from it into bigger projects like ff7-R. Giving them more won't change that.
No thanks. I already pay for a sub, I shouldn't have to pay more for a damn house.
I'd rather not have FFXIV turn into ESO. Once we start paying real money for houses, it's only a matter of time before $150 super-duper premium houses start being offered.
