ya'll here complaining but a tleast think that you can actually play with the race and gender you desire. Also, you do know that eventually something will come. We are left absolutely in the dark waiting to have a response in the next expansion which is still mroe than 1 year away, and we dont even know if we will get anything then

I wanted a new healer this expansion and we were due for one. So, everyone with any criticisms for GNB and DNC please just be thankful you can play those classes and don’t complain. I don’t even know if I’ll ever get to be bad at chemist :/ And you all want to complain about your attack sounds being weird? Smh.

Funny you assume that I blame the PS4. I just think it would make a good starting point. I'm a 'console scub' myself.

Also, I said it once and I say it again. SE is not an indie dev. To apply the same standards as for someone who made... I dunno... Stardew Valley? is insane.

And lastly, patience, my friend, is not unlimited. IF they are planning on changing something there must be at least concept art ready. But we're not even getting that.

Im not saying they are but we have no idea the official amount of people on this team nor what their workload is like. So patience goes a long way. They have made comments stating they are aware the situation is bad and they are still working on it.

They told us from the beginning this is what it was going to be we all knew this was not 100% complete and we chose it anyway.

Finally they are not obligated to tell us or show us any more than they have at present. They’ve made an official statement that’s all we can really ask of them. Theres no reason to show their concept art or their work so far. We are not entitled to those works just because we pay our sub.

Patience may not be unlimited but just because you are unsatisfied with the communication given does not give you a right to view development materials. If you can not or will not hold out any longer than that’s your decision but it does not mean they are ignoring the problem.

We have little idea of the complexities of the model for viera or hrothgar they’ve only told us the base details not all the technical aspects so there is an infinite number of potential problems they could be running into. This team may not be an indie team but they have a lot on their plates and they are only human.

I didnt say ppl shouldnt complain. I 1000% supprot the develoeprs actually finishing what they half assed to give us in 5.0 so they could sell ti as 'Woah not one, but TWO new raceees' when in reality it was less work than what they put into 1 gender of 1 race tbh. Im jsut stating that we are in the dark while you at least know something, not trying to undermine your requests

And one other thing. For those of you claiming square always wanted to do viera and if they didn’t they wouldn’t have. This is also wrong. Square originally had no intention of implementing viera but after the fan demand was so high during the lead up to heavensward they knew they had to. The dev team wanted a more beast like race aka Hrothgar but when they realized they didn’t have the time or resources to make a complete race for both they compromised and gave us the genderlock.

So we could get both. So... they do a lot for the fan base we don’t give them credit for.

The short hair one on the lop ear design is my dream hair. I’m pretty sure I’d actually combust with excitement if they added it. Shut me up about viera hair instantly with this one simple trick!

Ah, sorry to double post but I’m on mobile and I did want to address this. Wanting to do something as a passion project and wanting to do something to make someone else happy is still wanting to do something.

What I’m getting at is viera thirst didn’t appear out of thin air and then start beating the dev team over the head until it materialized independent of what they wanted to do. We know that they were back and forth before between implementing viera and introducing the au Ra and chose au ra partially due to the fact that viera were giving them trouble, supposedly due to the feet at the time. They had pretty fleshed out concepts that they chose to share with us. They chose to have a survey of races they were considering for community feedback. If they truly only wanted to do a beast race and be done, they would not have done any of this.

They wanted both for different reasons: Hrothgar to fill a gap, viera to appeal to the community that showed incredible enthusiasm when presented the idea by the team. Both reasons are equally valid.

The dev team gets plenty of credit. Perhaps they deserve more, sure. Viera players, in my experience, are extremely happy to be playing them. However, that does not mean there is nothing that can and should be improved upon. I love this dev team. They totally spoil us. They are so responsive and they care so, so much. This new video series has really highlighted that. So, I’ll have patience. I’ll of course keep playing. Is viera hair the most important thing in the whole game? Not even. But since the races are here and not going anywhere....
