In a Copied Factory run last week, the tanks kept vying for control and two of them kept fussing with each other over taking hate. They were spinning the boss around and making it difficult for everyone. The two that were griping at each other kept saying that the other should turn off tank stance. Finally the third one said they all should turn off tank stance and just “go for it”. I think he was just fed up with the other two by that point, but the whole thing was a mess.

Just wanted to thank another group that invited me to join their deltascape v4.0s farm.

I only had 1 clear and was still pretty messy with the fight, but everyone in this group was super patient.

The call outs for mechanics really helped me grasp the fight alot better. (Even though I died to Grand cross more than I would have liked lol)

Starting to feel never kill E8s just seems like trap party after trap party just seeing post adds seems a dream at points even though party is listed as enrage/clear, if you ain't ready don't bother joining your just going to waste people's time especially if your on LR prog.

Aetherochemical Research Facility in leveling roulette as DNC. Fellow dps is a DNC as well, so we partner each other because why not. Run was fine, save for my fellow DNC removing Closed Position from me midway through (and not even applying it to anyone else) for some reason. Odd, since Standard Step actually stacks, but whatever. I shrug, remove mine from them and give it to the tank. At the end of the run, the tank hits a macro reminding people to use their coms... so I gave it to the healer. Call it petty if you want, but not-so-subtley asking for coms kinda strikes me as tacky.

To my normal mode Lakshmi group I had earlier: I'm sorry. I really am. I've only done the fight once on an alt, and I'm still terribly shaky with that fight's mechanics. I know I need to run it multiple times to get it down, and even that video only gave me an idea of what to look out for.

To that poor mnk that kept dying but trying their hardest, I wanted to comm you but you left before I could.

Just look out for the blue orbs- grab them at any chance you get- they offer you immunity at crucial moments- typically when the entire platform lights up- pop it- I think the boon lasts 30 seconds, so you have a decent window c:>! Otherwise, if you notice others pop their bubble up- do the same. I'm sorry I'm not more helpful

So, I run through Ala Mhigo for the first time with one of my newer characters and I'm thinking it will be cake.

I'm not the highest ILV for 70, since I can't buy the poetics gear till after completeing SB, but I bought a good set of gear off the MB (ILV 385) so that I wouldn't be squishy.

Well... I die to the first pull, and at this point I am thinking that maybe I'm still too squishy (Which... shouldn't be the case since I'm ILV synced down...)

Do the next pull to too, and... the healer lets me die when there are only two mobs left?! and I'm just like... WHAT THE HECK MY DUDE HEAL ME?!

I don't say anything in the chat, but the healer just say "My bad" in the chat.

We keep going and I still do bigger pulls, but only two groups at a time, even up having to holmgang for two more trash pulls before we make it to the last fight.

I notice the AST must be typing or something cause they lag behind on one of the pulls and end up MTing in the party chat.

Watch my cutscene and we head into the final fight...

The healer gets knocked into the bleed wall each time it comes up, and the next thing I know, they're standing in an aoe and just dead.

So me and the DPS have to push on through.

We get to the add phase but die to the red sword.

We go back in, and even though the healer was the first one to die, they're the last one back to the boss room and I'm annoyed enough that I'm considering AFK kicking them.

They make it back to the boss room a few mins after the rest of us and we go in again.

And the same thing happens. They get knocked into the bleed wall. Stand in an aoe and just die.

...

Literally there is nothing else happening at that point. You just have to not stand in the aoe, I'm not understand what is so had about this? They're a level 79 AST and they have PLD to 80??!

This time me and the dps manage to get Zenos down to 5% alone.

One of the DPS speaks up and mentions to the healer if they see green they should run in...

We finally cleared the third time but they still got knocked into the wall for every single knockback.

I'm leveling MCH and i got into Bardam's Mettle. I was the only person who wasn't new to the instance. The tank was a DRK but seemed entirely new to the role. He tried to mass pull, but he didn't use a single defensive cooldown or aoe ability. The healer was also brand new, it was her first job to that level and was still in a couple pieces of level 60 AF gear. She did pretty okay for herself, but she couldn't heal the DRK through all of the unmitigated damage.

So we wiped on the first trash pull, the tank released and ran back before everybody was dead and grabbed the pack and did his single target rotation on one mob. So the other mobs were continually peeling off and killing us as we freshly spawned at the beginning.

I was about to bail here, but i decided that this was gonna be a teaching day. I told the tank that if he wanted to make large pulls like that he needed to rotate his defensive abilities and use his aoe regularly so that he doesn't lose aggro on anything.... He had no idea what his defensives were...and the only AoE on his bars was the very first DRK aoe. So we pulled one pack at a time.

When we got to the second boss i said "okay, this boss is entirely mechanics, with no combat, so just pay attention. None of them had any idea of what the mechanics did besides move out of the orange. The eye? They all looked into it. The meteors? They stopped moving after the first one. The towers? I was the only one who stood in one (we wiped here). They did a little better on the next pull, but all of them failed the final stage. I was the only one left standing to finish it.

I told them "You all had better familiarize yourselves with these mechanics, because they exist in most forms of content you'll see beyond this". They asked me "in shadowbringers or stormblood content?". I said "either, a lot of these mechanics have existed since ARR"

At the end of the instance the tank says, "so i guess i need to learn what my mitigation tools are then, lol" and i told him "I'm giving you some homework. Learn what your damage mitigation tools are and how to use them. Then learn your AoE rotation. Do that, and soon you'll be making the big pulls without breaking a sweat". Everyone took the advice i was giving rather well (nobody felt like i had attacked them on a personal level), but god knows if they'll actually use it and learn.
