Okay I see what's going on now. Thread has turned into GCBTW virtue signaling.
I’ll admit I do find it kind of amusing that anyone would honestly want to block out how another player looks. Just seems kinda petty to me.
It's petty, aye. It's also a sign of today's society.
"Muh safespace" apparently is of paramount importance to these people, even in video games now.
hint: don't play multiplayer games if you're triggered that easily.
That being said, as a role player, I can understand some of the complaints. In WoW, for instance, there is a weapon that looks like a big fish.
You cannot transmog that at all because Blizzard deems it a "fun item" not a "combat item" and in their view it would look ridiculous. Same goes for the Blizzcon Murloc costume. Orc sized shoulder pads, apparently, are totally combat ready and practical... ehh whatever.
Just shows how different peoples perceptions are.
Yes, the "anything goes" glamours in this game can be immersion breaking. I am not denying that fact and I never will.
If you think about it, it's kinda idiotic that we can glam a friggin frog costume but a WHM is not allowed to glam a DRK armor because uuuh... TREES.
At the same rate, I am willing to pay the price of people in frog costumes for the liberty of being able to glam Yukatas and leisurely tailored dresses.
Other people may not agree.
This feature would have to replace all character models with some basic man/woman guy or else we may see something like this xD

It's beautiful. Don't be such a bigot, why do you consider that ugly? Mismatching is part of some people's identity!! Right??? *sweats* *looks nervously at GCBTW tribe for approval*
This shouldn't really be a problem since it's optional. It will only look like that if you switch it on. Besides it will take more resources to add default cloathing sets instead of what you already have.
I feel like it would take less resources to implement feature that gives same basic armor to everyone instead of showing unglamoured gear. Don't know how the engine works though and am no expert on code.
