The idea was great on paper, but not so great with its execution. I don't think it should have been postponed for so long. Maybe day 2 of the event would have been better. To be honest, it was only because of the forums that I decided to log in and finish because I simply didn't know about the vote. I've been on an extended break so I've mostly just been logging in and out every couple weeks. But still, I think it could have been handled a bit better.

I guarantee you that more people would've been upset for being punished about not doing the event on Day 1.

I agree that it's always good that these events leave time for players to do the quests at their own pace. I've been playing the game for almost 5 years now, and I've never ever done an event as soon as it started (not day 1, or day 2, or even 1 week after sometimes). I understand the way they designed the event with 1 week for votes and 1 week for the follow-up, and I think it makes perfect sense. However, I personally consider the follow-up part as way less important than the first part (it had no rewards to offer, after all), which is why I think it might've been a better idea to tie up the achievement to the first part instead of the second one.
