Yeah I can see where you're coming from. I'm just appreciative when someone gives out some tips before a boss fight. I don't want them to spell out the entire fight because that would be annoying. But just some quick tips about some of the major mechanics is very helpful. But I don't mind if we jump right in, either.

I watch videos for me. Because I don't want to screw up so badly I become a burden to the group, but to each their own. When I'm running with trusts I just learn things on my own. It's a more relaxing environment and my mistakes aren't going to impact anyone else. Like I said in my previous posts, I'm an average player at best.

Here's a good example of what I'm talking about. Last night I did E6 for the first time. During the phase where both bosses were on the platform and there was a ton of AOE and a lot of stuff going on, everyone died except me and one of the tanks. I was able to raise both healers (RDMs for the win!), and then, somehow everyone was alive again? I don't know how that happened. Some sort of mass rez? Whatever it was, it was really cool and we were able to down the bosses eventually.

Some people were emoting at me like bump fists and stuff like that. And one of the healers gave me props for the rez. My response?

No problem! I watched a video.

Was prolly the healer limit break.

Got accused of not doing my job again, since I was using glare. Yeah, I'd rather sit there and hardcast raise with all you dead, and have it cancelled. Better choice.

Healer limit break 3! By rezzing one of the healers, you gave them the ability to pop the limit break and get everyone back up at once.

People don't realize that if i'm barely getting off casts of glare/broil/malefic, i'm absolutely not getting off a rez hardcast.

I've actually been ASTing my way through the new content because lightspeed takes a chunk off the cast time, so i can usually get off a few casts when i find a moment of respite. Can at least get one off usually during the more heated moments. Problem with that, however, is that people accept right away in the middle of the crap storm.

Even with presence of mind I was barely getting a hardcast raise, and most of the time even on a respite, sitting there trying to raise people like that has gotten me killed being in terrible positions. I can cast a quick glare and move. It's kind of just part of my play, reflex to cast glare inbetween heals and movement, or spam it when I can. We had like 5 people dead, and no heal LB3 and I used swiftcast, so I don't know what people are expecting here. On top of the MP usage. Plus I had literally just hardcast raised somebody just before.

Had a great second attempt at Eden 6!
This time around, the group was really friendly, didn't give hassle for wanting to try it blind initially, and they only offered tips after we wiped a few times.It took us three attempts to pass it and I got a bangle for my troubles. Good times!

This tank never used AoE's and they were turning the boss when they didn't need to. They're on my blacklist now.


I was extremely tempted to say "well sorry, but that makes you a bad team player :/" but they left before I decided to go for it.

They started the dungeon by saying "I'm not very good at tanking, so bare with me" so we were all willing to help in some way with advice... but they NEVER took our advice and leave the dungeon with that response. That kind of attitude is why people are just going to decide to kick players instead of offering helpful advice.

Today's failure was me.

As I now know the pain that is taking BLM into raids, cause it really felt like today every AOE was just magnetized to me every time I slap down my Ley Lines, I basically forced myself to learn when to slap it down now in the current raids cause I was so sick of either running around or taking a hit, I died so many times learning when would be the perfect time, so many parties were nice to me about it though, even got a commendation in Cinder Drift because I managed to have my 3rd eye open and play like an absolute legend...until I sat in an AOE.

Still been getting annoying lag. I got normal raid roulette for Eden Titan. IT WAS A LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG FIGHT. I somehow didn't die once (good thing I have the mechanics memorized well enough, that I know exactly what is going to happen), I think the lag let up just a bit for it. Again it was trying to hardcast my raise even though I had just used swiftcast. I also had to solo heal the fight for a decent bit. All the DPS were dying over and over, think some were new. Man. Game is trying to test me!
