Ocean fishing is horribly designed

There's a reason the boat is level 1 content. Fisher is the least played job in the game, and many people who might want to start doing it are not too keen on the process of getting the job leveled up, myself included.

However in just a couple trips last night I went up a substantial number of levels and now can see where trying to do more fishing and getting the end game gear might be viable (I already level miner and botanist, just don't do fishing) Between this and Ishgard being made available for lower level gatherers, it seems the entire point is to help jump start the leveling process more so than to provide hard, end-game content to established fishers.

The question is, will people enjoy fisher if they cant even level it outside of this? I mean all that is left if you are lvl 80 are nodes with fish. Fish that even outside of big fish have quite the conditions to catch. What will people do if they have it at lvl 80 and realize that this means nothing? There is nothing else than to fish and if you enjoy fishing (and I do for most of the time) then you will level it in no time even without that new content.

If ocean fishing would have been the new endgame content for maybe lvl 70+ fishers where you need skill and it has more to do than just really fast fishing, people might be willing to level that job up because they have something they look forward to. Now you have something for a level one that might get a huge amount of exp but I wonder if they will find the job interesting afterwards.

I just wonder why we needed another content for fast easy leveling (and if they are lucky they even get the mount and pet too) when leveling itself is fast. Ishgard has one part where newer people gained something but most of it is for those at max level, especially the new parts. Ocean fishing might get new routes but I doubt that they would suddenly restrict those for other especially if they keep the timer.

Hard to know.... though I can say this much. My friends in game told me that fisher is a lot more enjoyable once you get to do spear fishing, but since that's not till you're 60+ level, the process of getting there for a new fisher is a bit daunting.

I tried about 60 times and never caught a single one of those needed fish, and you have to catch five of them for the quest.

I'm not sure that you can catch them in North Central Shroud actually. I remember fishing from the other side of the Jadeite Flood, in Gridania near the Carline Canopy.

Thank you for the hint. I've watched a video of the Quest on youtube and it shows a whole different location.
This is weird. I'm playing with German language settings (I'm not a native English speaker) and the description clearly says " can only be found at Jadeite Thick during rainy weather".
