Here, a compromise, you can turn on a filter to turn off all glamours on your client side, but you are automatically turned into the derplander...

There are people out there that take offense with looking at some glams, lets take men in dresses for example. Having the (official) option to quietly turn off glamour would be a tool to avoid said people getting upset and lashing out at the offending man in a dress, reducing the amount of bigotry thats being expressed. And since its clientside, everyone wins. I doubt that upon turning off a glam there's going to be a system message stating "Momeen Dapoulet has turned off player glamour because they are disgusted by how you look."
Unless the man in a dress's identity entirely revolves around how hard they can make some people uncomfortable (which is pretty shallow, tbh), everybody walks away satisfied with themselves and there's less bigotry in this low world.

Precisely.
What you call bigots could very well be people with different sensibilities and they have rights to their own thoughts and tastes. Unless your plan is to purge every online spaces from people that are different, it would be much easier and better to foster tolerance via clientside tools.
For instance, instead of getting into a shouting match with your neighbour everytime you log on, there's the option to blacklist people. Blacklisting allows both parties to exist despite the often unreconcilliable personalities and prevents the blacklister from being further offended or harassed.
This is the objectively best option since it allows that the maximum amount of people can enjoy the game.
The same can go for glamours.

Humans in real life are important. Your character in this game is not important, it's a file on your computer and on a server somewhere. Don't be so invested in this game with your values. Your char might get deleted from this game tomorrow due to server failure. This game's community does not represent real life society in any way at all. It's a niche among niches when it comes to means of entertainment.

Because you're not allowed to not like how something looks or you're a bigot, didn't you know? If you're not attracted to someone you're also a racist, xenophobe, body shamer, and(or) any of these.

How about this as a proposed workaround to the whole 'but muh screenshots and streaming': if you use the glamour filter it could either reduce your character's displayed name to just the initials or just covers them completely. That way in the incredibly slim chance your character is featured and you see it, you wouldn't know.

Big difference between 'I don't like this/I'm not attracted to this' and asking for game features to completely hide it so you can pretend it doesn't exist.

Though for the record while I think this is a silly waste of dev resources I don't think people are bigoted for wanting this even if I disagree with the request and would rather not see it implemented.

What would be the problem with that? It's a client side voluntary option. I think that's the biggest argument from the people who either don't mind or do want this option. Hypothetically speaking you could completely mod the game and make every player look like penguins. What does it matter when someone does that? Would you ever notice? It's their client, it's their files on their computer. Only anti-choice argument I can understand is that implementation of this option would perhaps require resources that are best spent elsewhere.

The difference between modding and what's requested is dev endorsement realistically. It's also really not a "perhaps require resources" it would require resources when people complain about content droughts.
If people mod the game that's completely separate from any decisions from the devs and doesn't really involve any time from them. The stance on mods from the devs though really goes counter to most of your post as the software package actually belongs to SE and they have ToS rules on what you're allowed to do with it that you agreed to when purchasing/subbing.
