This definitely needs to happen.

I think you are talking about me, you know, topless male in a thong and fabulous. So now that we have female characters tanking in string bikini's and now men in wedding dresses, it's time to adopt an option a lot of other games have: Hide Glamour. Naturally troglodyte are going to assume it's because of the men in dresses. It's actually because it's breaks the theme and feel of it being a final fantasy game. Tanks should wear plate, healers should wear robes, and no one should be in a fight seriously wearing carbuncle slippers and lingerie.
I don't propose a limit to glamour, I just want to be able to turn off other players glamours displaying on my client. That way they can "Express" themselves all they want, and I don't have to suffer another topless male in a thong.
What.. a single dungeon versus the 40+ with Tanks getting Full armor/full body covering gear so clearly by own means the devs want you wear proper tank gear on tanks.
Whilst I don't care I just love how drastic the naysayers are in their counter points.
A system error occurred during event movement.
It is not drastic at all, nor is it a counterpoint. It is just a simple question, and one that you didn't answer.
is this still going on? people still dont understand that either way is none of anyones business? people can glam what they want, and if people would like an option to hide glam its also okay. it doesnt effect anyones gameplay. this thread can keep going until years, it wont change anyones opinion.
If you're honestly saying that then firstly you are not listening to what I want (for my character to not be altered by others) but more importantly you are misrepresenting the rest of what I have said.
I have never "tried to dictate what others find appealing". Acceptance that people in a shared-world game (or reality for that matter) will wear things you don't like is not the same thing as being forced to like it.
I don't like seeing people in novelty animal outfits either. The proportions on the 2B dresses creep me out. I could pick and choose and make a list of things that bother me.
But it's there, and someone else wants to wear it - so their appearance is none of my business. And mine should be none of theirs.
An option to give everyone a default armor (for each role) that all look the same would be fine too imo. Wouldn't use it too much, but just want to have a way to avoid having to look at certain glamours.
No thanks.
I'm seeing like... 8 dungeons which don't really follow the fully armoured, slightly less if you're counting stuff like Nomad's fending which is basically a caster robe as "full body covering". (Ravel Keeper, Nabaath, Ghost Barque, Shisui, Nomad, Woad, Sharlayan, ilvl 185)
There's also Ala Mhigan and the GUN starter gear as well as sets from crafting... lvl 76, Sky rat, and 52 from a quick look.
Sure, tanks tend to more often wear full-plate, but even just off dungeons there are exceptions to that and seems like what the devs want is to give people options and inspiration for different ways they can glamour.
This thread really reached 47 pages.wow oO
