    I'm all for changing things up, but with Shadowbringers I can't help but feel that they cut costs more than they have in previous expansions. Cutting more content for the sake of other content when there have already been cuts seems...questionable. All that sweet sub money certainly isn't going back into the game in any way, shape or form. They have made that quite obvious over the past couple of years.

    As someone who doesn't do Savage, Ex, etc. the dungeons—'deep' and otherwise—make up the bulk of repeatable content for me. It's going to be really hard to justify subbing for anything but the expansions now.

    Aside from the story, which is the main allure for me, the things I look forward to in patches are: dungeons, deep dungeons, 24 mans. And, while the NieR raid series is a dream come true for me, it is content that is spread pretty thin, with massive lulls between installments. If the new Eureka is a complete bust like the last one, I don't see that I have much to be excited about for the rest of the expansion at this point.

    That... definitely sounds like a dodgy translation. Because otherwise I have no idea what that could possibly mean O.o content mainly for living??? I doubt that means housing so idk what to make of it
    Does anyone have a clearer translation?

    I would guess "content mainly for living" means day-to-day life stuff. Like the ocean fishing content, or crafting, or whatever this farm/ranch thing is. Non-battle content.

    I'm all for new stuff. Deep dungeons are okay, but I generally only do them with friends until I have maxed stats. And just because you don't enjoy a type of content doesn't mean it failed. A lot of people thoroughly enjoyed Eureka. We have been popping in recently to help a friend who's just started it, and there's still an active FATE train in Anemos. Folks in Hydatos too. Not sure if anyone does Baldesion Arsenal anymore tho so they might look at changing how you access that.
    I get very tired of people complaining about content being the same and formulaic patches in a repeating cycle and then screaming when SE tries something new. If I was a dev, I'd just give you all the same fight for everything and give it a different name. At least then your constant complaining would be justified

    Eventhough I was quite a bit disappointed with the story of HoH I was looking forward to another deep dungeon because it was content that I was able to do alone or with a friend. Maybe I would be a bit less disappointed if we had heard more about that "farm" that he talks about..seemingly that is no battle content?

    Anyway we have lost another dungeon..for nothing..because instead of getting more stuff on top of the old ones we get less...strange when Shadowbringers was such a huge success and we have the highest amount of subs right now.

    I like to try out new stuff too but not at the cost of older ones..honestly I would be fine with them trying something new (and they should) if we did not lose stuff with it. We are growing in sub numbers, the expansion was a huge financial success but instead of building onto the stuff we get content taken out. And seeing how hit or miss their new stuff is (with more miss imo) then this is bad.

    Heck I would be fine with more Eureka even though I hated it if I knew that nothing else was cut for it..but seemingly we often just get new stuff at the cost of old..and imo deep dungeon was one of the few content that was seen as quite positive here on the forum. (At least more positive than stuff like Diadem or Eureka)

    They elaborated a bit on the "resource" issues during their Game watch interview (follow the discord link here for the transcripts), at least as it pertains to Hildibrand stuff (something I'll confess to caring very little about), and like I suspected it's more a manpower than a money issue. I suspect the ARR rework is drawing significantly on their scenario teams, and if they are doing anything similarly intensive with the graphics/assets (which may also encompass the ARR consolidation, a project which may, in turn, preoccupy their battle design team), that would explain the cuts in the dungeons and deep dungeon, since they positioned any such work as necessitating such trade-offs (e.g. see here). They don't like contracting out work, and these are short term projects, so it could explain why they're stretched. I'm waiting until 6.0 to whether this is all being done to deliver significant improvements to the game along the lines I want to see, i.e. character customisation and texture/graphics improvements.

    And what if nothing of that comes true? No improvement on graphics, ARR will get some quests cut off and that's all, and even there will be no new customization for races, maybe a one hair for new races and that's all. How would you feel? As someone who's waiting for big change s since HW, they doing same stuff year by year, but we're getting less and less than before.
    Something inside me still trying to believe, some hope still exists, but year by year it's just vanishing away as I see what priorities they have in mind.
