I understand why people are upset.

It doesn't bother me as much cause I do quite like the available hairstyle I'm using and am enjoying playing as a Hrothgar so much that I wouldn't ever change race again.

...what does feel kinda uncomfortable is when about every 2nd other Hrothgar I run into has pretty much the same hair. It just makes me feel less like an individual (from ingame Eorzean perspective) and more like a copy out of a clone-factory.
Though I guess Hrothgar being generally seen less often than other races makes up for this a little.

Sure, other races have to deal with that too - but to quite a lesser extent as far as it comes to hairstyles (the lack of face variety is an issue shared by all races though).

I do feel that the developers should have the responsibilities to follow up on things they 'promised' in the past. Not even asking that they add something as soon as possible, but at the very least communicate about it.
"Hey guys, those customization / hairstyle options we talked about in the past - it might yet take a while longer since other content is a priority at the moment", would already be fine in my opinion.
They're a company, they have priorities and are probably dictated in what they can and can't do by the 'higher ups' doing the decisions.

But I feel they at least owe the people a explanation, or any form of communication regarding this.

And as others have mentioned, pre-patch drought. You're right. As the due date draws near, pacifiers are worn and need to be replaced.

Strange I remember that you complained about something recently too? Is that also pre-patch drought whining? Why are some of you so ready to go into threads that are "whining" in your eyes and to continue to post in them? If you have no problems with the current system thats fine. Its also fine to post about it saying that you have no problem with it. But continuing to go into these threads were different people have different problems and put them down with your posts is kinda interesting. Is there so much drought and boredom that this is necessary? Why not ignore it?

Viera heads aren't that fancy. Their head is basically a miqo with different ear placement.

There is an argument to made for hrothgar because they definitely do have a very different head shape and the hunch a bit so hair could clip badly. No excuse for viera though.

Though maybe why SE isn't letting viera use the new hair is because people will riot if hrothgar don't get an option too.

I know its not veira isnt all that different from the other races but thats the excuse SE has made in the past

I could make a LIST of things I want in this game that have yet not been confirmed to come by the devs and somehow I have more patience waiting for them then people who got confirmation from the devs more than once that they're getting what they want.

No its not for up votes i couldn't care less about that crap its about the fact that se runs a service we pay money for and they made a promise that the 2 new races would have new content and have given us no news that its in the works or have they released any of said content i understand the old hair styles but there is zero excuses for the new hairs made since there release (also sorry i typed this on my phone in a rush)

(almost here) seriously i get it the bunny girls and beast boys have fancy heads but we were told there would be updates to their hair at some point but this is getting ridiculous we have had 3 new hairstyles now since launch all of which cant be used by Hrothgar or Veira i know i sound like an entitled brat but come on

this is what happens when insteado f doign an amazing race with two genders that many players will enjoy you release two halves of higly wanted races, already alienating many fo the players who wanted them in the first place, and then nto only do you onyl release those halves but theyre even unfinished. Hope they remvoe the restrictions (gender, gear and hairstyles) on 6.0, but I've lost my faith in SE tbh

The thing that amuses me is that Miqo'te and Aura both have protrusions on their heads, in the case of the Miqo'te it even directly attatches to the hair. If they can do that with little effort, why can't they do the same for Viera if nothing else?

They are running a tight schedule. They aren't worried about male Viera and female Hrothgar and hair/helmets at the moment. They are at the bottom of the bucket list compared to what has been released in 5.2 and the closer we get to June/July which is when the next expansion should be released as every expansion released before has always been around the end of June into July. Most likely the opposite genders and the hairstyle and helmets will be released in 6.0.

I do agree with this, I think we will see both things at 6.0. Just gotta be patient. At least, try to be positive and think you can actually play a viera/hrotgar of your desired gender

Leaving those the only race without haircuts would be just unfair, especially with the fact they can't even change those they have without buying fantasia. But this is just an assumption that was based on the fact Viera don't have any real technical issues with their heads.

If this is the real reason then I find it really silly to limit a race that doesn't need to be due to the complexities of the other. If the situation were reversed, and Viera were the complex one but they were able to easily update Hrothgar along with the rest of the races, then I would want them to do that. Arbitrarily limiting one race, because the other one came out at the same time doesn't make sense to me.
