Doing Castrum Meridianum, I'm tanking so I run to pull the left and right groups near the lights switches first, I notice the samurai sprint straight up the middle and continue pulling all the mobs running ahead with sprint. The Sam dies, the healers are panicking and I end up dying next and around 1/2 of group wipes on the first pull. I tell the SAM to not do that, and he complains I'm not pulling fast enough. The SAM continues to do that throughout the dungeon, and when I pull the mobs near the light switch to make the mobs disappear after the first boss the SAM pulls the mobs and continues running ahead while not flipping the light switch i'm standing and tanking mobs next to.

I complain in party chat that the "SAM is trying to wipe the group again", and I have the other Tank yell at me, "if the dps dies pulling then let him die. just dont be a *explicit* about it and fill up my chat with your tears, save that for the kleenex you have next to your pc" while the bard told me "you sound like a 12 year old yelling on xbox".

I reply "is asking for the DPS to not run ahead pulling mobs that despawn after clicking a button seriously whining these days..." and the healer replies back, "no everything after was including this :^)" I decided to not to reply to that.

One of the DPS makes a comment, "so from now on all the dungeons gonna be *explicit* show like this? Maybe I should stop leveling."

I made sure to not say anything that would get me in trouble with a GM because I was planning to report afterwards, so I kept all my replies mature and professional to avoid GM backlash. But, I have never come across an MSQ Castrum group that was this toxic and abuse to another player in the group. I guess they were a group of friends, because they were all being toxic and abusive but to different degrees. The Sam made sure to not say anything inappropriate in party chat that I could report, so I ended up reporting the toxic tank instead. I am legitimately upset, and after playing this game from it's 2.0 release, I have NEVER come across a group so toxic and abusive EVER. I guess they must been friends or something, because if any solo DPS was harassing the main tank and wiping the group and pulling mobs that disappear they would be kicked, but the vote kick failed.

Maybe I need to take a break from this game or something, I dunno... I'm incredibly upset though, and I was dying to say something that would get me in trouble with the GM's, but thankfully I was able to restrain myself multiple times. All I can do is vent here and wait for my report to go through.

And once you graduate into a WHM and get Holy at Lv45, you'll want to stay pretty close to the tank anyway so you can spam the enemies with AoE.

Assize and Holy are a WHM's greatest joy. At least until we join a cult.

Decided to pop in and thank Pocketdancer and tdb for their advice! I do want to play Healer more often, so one could consider my RDM main as a starter version of this.

I am so sorry you had to go through that. Like, from your side of the story, it sounds like you aired valid complaints and got shot down because you were a stranger to the rest of the group. FFXIV is a game that's meant to be fun, but at same time you still want to clear content. So when one person is refusing to do their part it spoils the experience. I am so sorry you had to go through that. Like, from your side of the story, it sounds like you aired valid complaints and got shot down because you were a stranger to the rest of the group. FFXIV is a game that's meant to be fun, but at same time you still want to clear content. So when one person is refusing to do their part it spoils the experience.

I'll get the last laugh though, my friend told me they were probably a hardcore raid group since several of them had the 475 weapon and they were all "circle *explicit*" she was in the group with me but just kept taking screenshots for the report she was compiling. I made one as well, just not as detailed... She kept telling me over voice chat to keep my mouth shut and to not reply back to the taunts made and to stop making complaints even though they were valid. If it wasn't for her, I would've gotten myself suspended as well.

"Look at it like this Ftail, some of them will be missing their next static session because they are definitely going to be temporarily suspended for their comments. Don't get in trouble with them when I report them."

I'm just venting right now, I've never been this upset from playing the game before and this is exactly the reason I don't play games that promote this behavior like League or Legends or Halo anymore.

I find that people who respond to my silliness in kind will make even the most dull duty finder worth it.

que'd up for trial roulette as tank got titan, everyone was either dead or got knocked off by heart phase ended up soloing the rest didnt get a single commendation, feels good

My main Job is RDM, currently at level 75. But I also am leveling several classes on the side for fun. Relevant to today's story is Conjurer.
In a previous MMO I played a healer, so I took to Conjurer like fish to water. But man, the hardest challenge I've had playing this class is in Thousand Maws.
Esuna got a workout the likes that it never has before, because I didn't want to leave the Tank with three stacks of poison at once. And whenever me and the group fought a Cat O' Ninetails, I had to make sure to keep the entire party healthy.
But the "highlight", so to speak, is the boss fight at the end. The DPS rushed in a little too soon, and got the entire party sucked into the arena...except the tank, who was watching the cutscene. Needless to say, this was followed by a wipe. Second attempt went better, but I was scared for my life because even the Tank couldn't pull every add to them. So I got chased around a bit and had to heal myself on occasion. (To be clear, the Tank did their job, it was just a lot.)

The first couple of bosses, IIRC, will almost immediately apply poison to anything in melee range if you Esuna it off, so for the tank just keep them healed as normal and don't worry about removing the poison stacks; remove it from the dps and yourself when necessary.

Many tanks run away from Asylum too. Basically they run away from every ground targeting skill. And yeah, with Doton, it just led me to use it much less.

I save rescue specifically to pull them back into it. If they're gonna make a huge trash pull and then run out of Asylum/Sacred Soil when i toss it down, and plant themselves outside on the edge of it... I'm gonna pick them up, and throw them back in there myself. Then i demand they don't waste one of my most effective mass pull cooldowns.

Side note: I do the same to ranged dps standing by themselves in the corner way out of range of my aoes.

Dancer is basically an AoE job in even the earliest dungeon content since their aoe skills are worth using even on only 2 mobs and they have them at low levels. They only really use most of their single target skills on bosses, since they mostly have an AoE equivalent that's better. Pre-50 or even 60 a Dancer can easily out-dps other dps in a dungeon as a result.

Yeah when they know what they are doing they are really good.

I was in Cosmos today with a Dancer who knew what they were doing. I was on SMN and that's no slouch at AoE either. But that Dancer was doing so much AoE that I would have my major Summons still up at the end of some of the Mass Mob packs.

I would get through my First Tri-Disaster, then Bane it out and into Slipstream, kick off a Garuda Enkindle and throw out the rest of the Egi Assaults, whip out Bahamut or Phoenix and it would still be up at the end of the fight. Which NEVER happens with any other DPS partner doing Dungeon trash.

Usually I have to throw out another Slipstream after Bahamut or Phoenix and polish the few left off with quick Ruin 4s.

So, currently leveling AST, hitting leveling roulette. It's my favourite (not sarcasm) dungeon i.e. Aurum Vale.
Tank announces that it's his favourite dungeon as well. And we get 2 dps sprouts.
First room goes smooth with careful pulls and no deaths. After explaining fruit mechanics first boss go smooth too, as well as the rest of the dungeon. Aside from NIN eating Swing from the second boss, but eh.
See, Aurum Vale can be fun.
