I'm not against this. Other games do it. Saves me from spending money if I have the time and if I'm impatient, I can just buy it outright. Doesn't give me any in-game advantage either way. I don't think SE would allow any kind of dent to their profit from MogStation though ;P
Odin would not be a good mount to grind for, he only spawns once a week and its completely random when that happens. Last time I killed him was just over a month ago and before that it had been close to a year since I last saw him. I play FF14 regularly so that says alot about how long it would take to grind 100 mantles. I would like to see more crafted mounts added to the game that can be traded, I do agreee there should be more in-game mounts ones that take some work to get it. Let ones like Slephnir just remain on the store since its already there.
Obviously, I would be okay with it since free stuff. Lets be honest though, SE has precisely zero incentive to do this given they make a boatload off the Mogstation. And if, for whatever reason, they did give this a try. It'd be all but guaranteed to be locked behind content people wouldn't want to do otherwise. Think things like queue for MSQ roulette 500 times, PvP, Blue Mage, old Extreme/Savage fights (synced) and etc.
It wouldn't hurt since the cash shop is still there for those who want to avoid awful grinds. But I don't know that it'd be well received.

lowkey agaisnt it? purely because ppl would stop using mogstation and grind for it instead, which can potentially hurt SE and im afraid of them making more dull contents than it already is
As a casual gamer, I rarely have the time available to grind for any of the current mounts as it is, thus I have only a few in game mounts to my name. Don't get me wrong, when I see a mount that is acquired through grinding, I'm very happy for them, they look great and I respect that they've put in the work to earn them. However, I won't deny that having a small handful of mog station mounts in my stable gives me that feeling of having something that not everyone else has, and to me, makes them special as well. So I say nay; keep grinding mounts and mog station mounts separate.
I'll always side on having things available in game through in-game means. However I would prefer good content over mindless grinding. I'm also the one who always asks why a vender has the items they are selling. Probably the best balance of grind and content I've ever seen was the venomhide raptor quest line in WoW.

You could use the odin trial instead for that. You know, Urth's Fount?Odin would not be a good mount to grind for, he only spawns once a week and its completely random when that happens. you don't play that often then or you have no chats and have disabled all yells and shouts if you see odin that rarely.Odin would not be a good mount to grind for, he only spawns once a week and its completely random when that happens. The achievement vendor seemed to utilized this idea, but it was abandoned for the sake of extra profits.
