Oh! I didn't even think of that. Figured they wouldn't respond, but I will totally give this a shot. Thank you (:
So people dont have to scroll through that thread to find the official answer, which is: No. Not allowed.Greetings!
This thread was brought to my attention, along with the other thread that was linked. I wanted to clarify the policies related to real money trading, farming, and power leveling, since this thread does place a slightly different viewpoint on the discussion. While the creation of art can carry a different connotation than real money in terms of something to exchange for gil, your skills and the results of their application (in this case, art) are considered something of real world value. When considering it under this view, the exchange of art for in game currency would be considered a violation of the rules and may result in account actions.
I hope that this helps clarify this question about the application of our policies.

Man, that's too bad! But thank you for that link Kinetic-duet, and the quote Vidu.
You would think, since these sorts of threads pop up enough, that they would clarify it in the ToS itself by now. Been around for like... 6 years you know?

Oh, well. If I donate you some Gil for help your character FIRST, nobody stops you to say thank you to me with a piece of your art THEN.
The difference is, a donation is a... donation! I cannot expect anything in return.

It's not allowed as others have pointed out, there was a big kerfuffle on the art side of the fandom when that was clarified as well back when gil was harder to make. I'd also warn people that if they try to get around it be careful of what they say in game and who they try to jump through hoops for. Most artist friends I have will do it but only for good friends and will never discuss the actual transaction in game given the risk of being reported.
Pretty sure it's fine. As long as you're not paying actual money for gil.
Edit: guess not

Not allowed under the ToS, but if you make no mention of specifics in the game SE won't do anything.

The way this is worded is borderline useless, given that you can attribute literally everything, in-game or out, to 'the results of the application of skills'.your skills and the results of their application are considered something of real world value

awwwthank you!
yeah, true that ;_; it's probably a liability thing, or something they'll turn their heads to but probably if it's brought to their attention they'll HAVE to take action. The risk for being scammed (likely the customer) are far too great.Man, that's too bad! But thank you for that link Kinetic-duet, and the quote Vidu.

Mmmhm, I see, gotcha. I don't think I'll do it at all then. Big risk, not worth it. Guess I'll just make my gil the only way a Miqo'te can... *cries* xD
